Absolutely!! 🫤 With some BSL / English Interpreters, it’s getting out of control. Sadly, some are getting greedy and selfish. It’s a shame because they’re giving their fellow fantastic BSL / English Interpreters a bad name!! I’m highly concerned with the future. Work together!!!

Consultations timescale: 1.) @scotgov draft #BSL National Plan 2023-2029 is nine weeks! 2.) @GOVUK GCSE BSL in England is 12 weeks. 3.) #HumanRights Bill in Scotland is 16 weeks. Do you think BSL Communities got a fair deal? It’s a fragile draft plan, Minister @JennyGilruth. 😳👎

I urge Minister @JennyGilruth to consider extending the deadline to Saturday 30 September 2023. For us to gather more responses and to get it right. Together, we can make Scotland the best place in the world for BSL users to live, work, visit and learn. Thank you 14/14 #BSLForAll

Many are still frustrated with the lack of connection and hardly any engagement and participation, communication or collaboration from the Scottish Government over the last few years. The Scottish Government are accountable to the people of Scotland, including BSL users. 13/14

The @ScotGovEdu BSL team have been advised several times since November 2022 to get the draft BSL National Plan consultation out ASAP. They’ve left it too late to get a good response from BSL users!! Many of them are not aware of or understand the consultation!! 12/14

There’s limited information, unclear actions, a potential conflict of interest for those involved, and repetitive actions (with some wordings watered.) And too much investigative approach when many colleagues have already done the hard work. Nothing about who pays for this? 11/14

The draft BSL National Plan does not include the updates and developments information from the missing final report of the BSL National Plan 2017-2023. Where is it? We must understand the challenges and successes and learn from them for the BSL National Plan 2023-2029. 10/14
