A word of caution to GOPs still using “socialist” as a pejorative in the great 2026. Affordability has topped the issue grid since 2023, failing to address that issue means socialism sounds appealing for that many more people.

High caliber out-of-state attorneys immediately want to serve the Free State of Florida as government prosecutors and consumer advocates. They are desperately needed.
Instead of allowing them limited permission to temporarily practice under the supervision of top-ranking state counsel, the Florida Supreme Court again sided with the ultra liberal Florida Bar to kneecap these outstanding attorneys and force them to first prematurely jump through unnecessary bureaucratic hoops. This is elitist red tape that hurts Floridians. It negatively impacts public safety and corporate accountability.
NEWS: the Florida Supreme Court has unanimously rejected state AG James Uthmeier’s proposal that would have allowed some state government lawyers to practice for up to 3 years w/o taking the Florida Bar exam first.
What this means: the state’s highest court rejected Uthmeier’s proposed amendment, he hoped would “attract and encourage experienced, well-qualified lawyers from around the country to serve in Florida government” by having some lawyers be bar certified members (and thus being able to work) before having to take the exam.
