Today I turn 41! I’m the birthday, as the kids would say.
& here’s what I’ve learned over these years:
A. There’s no substitute for great friends.
B. The little things are the big things.
C. Let things breathe — even important things need space.
D. Life is shorter than you think. Tell them you love them now.
E. We can win in this lifetime.
F. I get why runners always talk about running.
G. None of us are bigger than the program — but we make the program.

Maryland Democrats have poured nearly half a million dollars in support to state Sen. Shaneka Henson (D-Anne Arundel) as she seeks to become the first Black senator elected to represent the county, intensifying what has become one of the state's most contentious legislative races.
The Maryland Democratic Senate Caucus Committee reported $488,399 in in-kind contributions to Henson's campaign over the past two months, but the race has fractured the party over her voting record on abortion access and LGBTQ+ rights, with some Democrats backing Republican nominee Jessica Haire despite the district's 44-year Democratic hold.

For over 3 years I’ve been following the case of Demetrius Kern after he was arrested by Cleveland Heights, Ohio police officers for not producing his ID…
Mr. Kern had been falsely arrested and charged after he was almost hit by a police cruiser driven by Officer Carly Lewis, whose video deposition was featured back in January of this year…
That arrest was made primarily at the direction of Officer Lewis’s supervisor, Sgt. Naftali Wolf, whose video deposition was featured in February of this year. At the end of that video, I mentioned that the civil lawsuit against them was still pending, and that the parties were waiting on the judge to rule on the officers’ request for qualified immunity….

White players on a North Carolina high school boys soccer team were caught on video cheering a RACIAL SLUR on the team bus after losing to a rival school whose student body is Black and Hispanic and now their entire season has been CANCELED.
Thomasville, North Carolina
"Attention everybody!" a white player shouts at the front of the East Davidson High School bus after losing to Thomasville High. "Make noise if you hate N-words!"
White teens across the bus immediately erupt into loud cheers and laughter while two boys in the front seat fist-bump on camera.
Davidson County Schools canceled the rest of the team's season effective immediately.
