I've wanted to make this game for almost a decade. After years of building it, breaking it, losing it, redoing it several times, and even abandoning it entirely, the free demo is out on Steam. Very cool! You're an armored bulldozer against a whole town who is out to get you, from the local police to the National Guard. Lots of destruction and explosions. It would mean the world to me if you tried it. Thanks!

When I was writing Unreal Engine 1, my time was divided as follows: - Around 30% went to seriously deep coding on hard problems: assembly language texture mappers, C++ BSP trees, data persistence, object oriented systems design, and networking. - Around 70% was just typing and refactoring large bodies of code needed for a complete engine feature set. This was not hard, and while I was doing it my mind was mostly on the deeper coding topics, thinking and planning for what's next. It didn't feel much different from vibe coding today, except that it was just me typing code on an IBM Model M keyboard rather than prompting it and reviewing the results. So, it has always seemed perfectly logical that we would rely on AI for that 70%, once the AI could do it with a similar quality standard as we could, which has never been perfection. It came as no surprise that, after a few years of AI model evolution, it was able to take the reigns on that 70% and free up programmers' time for more valuable tasks. What's more of a surprise is the emergence of AI as a sort of insta-Carmack able to solve hard technical problems quite cleverly and often cleanly, and that it's able to reason about and work in complex 3D scenes both by operating the tools and by directly understanding the raw data files. I abandoned assembly language in 1998 when out-of-order CPUs made much simpler C/C++ code faster, and never I missed it. If prompting through architectural documents, concept art, and design plans can transcend typing code and tweaking vertices, that will enable developers to spend their time on higher-level, higher value technical and creative tasks. What matters is the end product, whether it's a game or an engine. Anything developers can do to try out more ideas and make better software and games faster is a win for everyone.

Everyone saying the Tesla demo is fake. They have the receipts. There's a treasure trove of engineering videos showing their amazing hard work. 馃く

SpaceX has used thrusters to position spacecraft for decades. Making them work in a vehicle instead of a vacuum took all-new hardware & controls. Every usable void in the car is packed with Carbon Fiber Overwrapped Pressure Vessels (COPVs) More compressed gas on board = more flight time

Pretty sure that this prototype will have a oversized pressure vessel compared to the production version. So you not going to be flying all over the place like this, BUT it's going to be unstoppable on the track, which is it's design goal. What an amazing feat of engineering. 馃く
Real life, baby

If you are going to do unbelievable things, expect disbelief.

People aren't getting the exponential curve. Just a tiny bit ahead and it can runaway to a point that can't be caught without "kenitic intervention". Look at open weight and frontier. I don't think the gap will get smaller anytime soon.

Closed loop, prove to peer(s) you are done. Then wake me when you agree and explain.. this is the new Ralph loop for me. 馃憣

I don't think I need a computer anymore. Just a phone with a big screen. For the first time a foldable actually makes sense to me! Does anyone know any Linux based foldable projects?

Remember, if software is your moat, it's going to get rough. 馃 Cuda ? I think Nvidia will be doubling down on hardware. Can't wait to see what they are cooking.

This is crazy but.... I don't think we need programming languages anymore. I have just seen a LLM (with some custom tooling) build a huge app in pure web assembly. I'm in shock.

Who TF gave AI to estate agents? Prepare for some very disappointing house viewings people.

Super not cool @OpenAI - No explaination nothing, just you are deactivated.

Ok, so what if the AI companies started to make their AI, sabotage competition? Probably wouldn't even need the companies to do this, fanboys of the AI will do it for them even. AI wars.

The people in charge of the emergency notifications in Spain should go to jail. They have basically used it for such stupid reasons, everyone will now ignore it. This puts people's life's in danger. Has noone in charge ever heard the story of the boy who cried wolf???

Yet again, the sonnet release is the most interesting release. Intelligence is solved, we are now in the efficiency race.

Buying a car (at least in Spain) is such a terrible experience. You go to the dealer, you see the prices, you see the cars. Great. (In my case I saw a really great deal advertised). Then you sit down to buy, and they tell you that basically all the prices you see are a lie and everything is actually 15k more than what's shown. And then after the horrible feeling you not getting a good deal, if you don't take a 10 year finance deal with zero down (adding another 10k) they add another 5k to the price. Total insanity. How did it become so one sided? Does everyone just lease now?

They should reband the London underground to the porta-loo experience.

They basically misheard the "in the future we'll all travel in tubes" and implemented ...travel in porta-loos
