the number of movies you can discover with little to no effort is part of the reason why I'm never falling for the "letterboxd is bad for cinema" propaganda

If there is any recent movie that im okay with getting cornplatted, its Dorothy. Im happy people are actually talking about details, scene comparisons, metaphors, wordplay, costuming, blocking in scenes, etc. There is so much to talk about and it is deservedly getting analyzed ❤️
ENFIN Fini Steel Ball Run!!

There’s something so achingly beautiful about Karthi falling in love and wanting to look his best for Subbu. The way he fixes his hair, lights his cigar, drives that lorry like as if he is the main character of a rom-com , carrying all that excitement to meet her. And then at the festival, looking for her in every face, dancing his way through the crowd, smiling with such tenderness at strangers he mistakes for her.
I think that’s what yearning does to you. It makes the whole world feel a little like the person you love. For a moment, every face holds the possibility of finding them, and even a stranger’s face becomes something to smile at. He was already so full of love that it spilled into everything he saw.
And Rishikanth, what a beautiful job he does bringing this lover boy to life. The little smiles, the adoration, the sheer giddiness of being in love, every bit of it feels so effortless and lived in. And the way he looks at the end of it all, God. So beautiful, inside and out. Made yearning look like the sweetest thing in the world.
