The biggest infrastructure buildout in history! +$10T was committed to be invested and built out in the US, into: high paying jobs, earth movers, concrete pouring, cable running, transformers, data-center buildings, and more power plants. And people are still bearish
The Kobeissi Letter
@KobeissiLetterSep 25
We are officially witnessing the biggest wave of infrastructure investment in modern US history. Total investment in data centers and AI infrastructure is projected to average 3.63% of US GDP per year from 2025 to 2032, the highest proportion among major infrastructure buildouts since the 1800s. The previous largest investment, railroad infrastructure, represented 2.24% of GDP per year in 1870-1890. This was followed by highway investment that averaged 1.13% of GDP in 1956-1973, while telecommunications and fiber infrastructure averaged 1.10% in 1996-2003. By comparison, electrification stood at just 0.50% of GDP in 1905-1925, while canal investment accounted for 0.66% in 1836-1841. This comes as AI and data-center infrastructure investment is projected to total ~$10.3 trillion between 2025 and 2032. The AI buildout is the largest infrastructure investment in modern US history.

Uranium's at $90, down from $136 during the last cycle. The mining stocks are still worth $75bn, more than when uranium actually hit $136. Met Scott Melby yesterday, 40 years in uranium. His read: the SMR money has stalled, permits take time. Demand doesn't need to jump, buyers just need to fear tomorrow's pounds won't be there at today's price. At $150 this could become a real uranium equity story. I want to own who supplies the fuel. #uranium

Riyadh, Beijing and the Houthis all want something different out of the Red Sea and none of them can get it without someone else moving first. The Bab el-Mandeb, the Gate of Tears, is one of the world's great maritime choke points, and right now the tankers aren't getting through it. More on this and on uranium at $90 (sector already above its last cycle peak). Follow for more of this, if you want my newsletter and portfolio, link in bio. #bitcoin

What do the United States, human rights, and General Motors have in common? None of them are real. At least not in any physical sense. This week's Library of Legends unlock is punk6529, in conversation with Raoul Pal. In this clip he lays out intersubjective myths: ideas everyone agrees to treat as real, the glue that lets millions of strangers live in a cohesive society.  In his words, "everything is downstream from them."

Ive spent 35 years building a way of thinking about markets... the liquidity cycle, debasement, the exponential technologies eating everything. Its scattered across thousands of hours of interviews, reports and Real Vision videos. raoulpal.ai is all of that in one place you can talk to. Ask it how I'd read the market right now. Upload a chart and get my take on it. Test an investment idea against how I reason. It answers in my voice, using my frameworks, drawing on everything Ive said publicly plus the reasoning behind the Real Vision paywall. It wont build your portfolio for you and it isnt perfect. But as a head check, or a mentor you can bug at 2am, its bloody useful.

Mike McGlone thinks Bitcoin's glory days are behind it. The part he's still bullish on: stablecoins. He's held that view since watching Tether's assets climb through the 2018 bear market. Now he sees tokenization coming for everything. Mike McGlone, Bloomberg Intelligence, with Jamie Coutts on Real Vision.

"The dollar has underperformed a lot versus everything that's been happening." Energy up, a hawkish Fed, yields at highs. Three things that typically lift the dollar, all firing at once, and it's barely moving. Steno’s read: speculators are crowded into the long dollar trade, so the obvious catalysts have nothing left to push.

If you’re sweating short time horizons you’re fucking everything up. Crypto hasn't been through a cycle. A cycle needs liquidity to drive it, and what we got was liquidity being dampened while a massive bull market ran in something else. The actual driver hasn't changed. Central banks and the banking system have to keep financing interest payments by issuing money to offset the ageing population. That is The Everything Code. It’s been playing out like this for decades and it doesnt care about your quarter.  Own Nasdaq, own crypto, go to the beach.

Raoul and I have known each a long time coming from the same macro beginning. Him at GS and me at MS. We both ended up at the crossroads of AI and crypto and I love getting a chance to spend time with him going through our latest thoughts on where we are today in the disruption. A fun listen.
The bond panic is noise. The real signal is margins expanding while hiring stays flat. I sat down with @jvisserlabs to explore yields, tokenization, 24/7 markets... and why the next phase of crypto is about far more than price. As ever, please enjoy!

How do you value an L1? Well, take Ethereum for eg. Now imagine turning the switch off. All the stablecoins, DeFi, every L2, every NFT... everything built on it goes to zero L1s attract assets, capital and velocity because they are dense with intelligence. Ethereum has the most developers, its programmable, it has the whole ecosystem around it. Ive had the DCF argument so many times and its just nonsense... you're not valuing cash flows, you're valuing everything the chain secures. As we move into the Exponential age and the entire human economy plus a whole new agentic economy moves onchain, enormous value accrues in these base layers. It’s all so obvious…

Your money is being diluted faster than you think. Once you count it, you need about 11% a year just to stand still. Very little in a traditional portfolio clears that.

"I can't own dollars, I have to get out of my dollars." That's the knee-jerk @forexstophunter is watching, and he's not chasing it. The same dump-dollars, buy-bonds panic knocked Bitcoin under 60k. Dale isn't reacting to this. Instead, he's tracking a long-term three-drives top, the pattern he uses to call the turn. Two drives in, one more high to go.

Alex Cutler: "Market making" is one of the most exclusive clubs in finance. Citadel Securities, Interactive Brokers... these guys are extracting 77% margins on the capital they deploy. On Aerodrome, anyone can come onchain and be the market maker. During Nvidia earnings last week, liquidity providers were "positioning like an order book would on the buy or sell side of Nvidia onchain... participating in speculating on what they thought those earnings were going to be." FT @wagmiAlexander @DromosLabs @aeroxyz @BitcoinJesusETH @Securitize. Follow for more: @milkroaddaily
Coinbase just put Nvidia shares somewhere your brokerage account never could. Tokenized versions of Nvidia, Apple, Meta and Alphabet recently went live on Base - and on day one, DeFi lenders were already taking them as collateral. Aave, Morpho and Euler all support the stock tokens as collateral, while Aerodrome runs the liquidity pools, so you can borrow against tokenized Nvidia or pair tokenized Apple with USDC and collect trading fees. Try doing any of that with the shares sitting in your brokerage account. Kyle, our Head Of Research, has been waiting years for this. Up until now, onchain finance had stayed niche while crypto only had crypto to trade against itself, and the best assets in the world sat outside the system entirely. Now investors outside the US, where accessing American equities is often a nightmare, can hold them and earn on them. This is still just the early innings though. Tokenized stocks total about $2.48B, up 5.2% over 30 days, across 2.1M holders and $27.28B of monthly transfer volume. We saw a record $3.4B month for tokenized equity volume back in July, roughly 4x the month prior, but most of that was SpaceX IPO demand. Two risks I'd keep in mind: 1. Thin liquidity: collateral nobody can sell quickly in a selloff turns into forced liquidations at ugly prices. 2. Access: the US restriction sits at Coinbase's app layer, not in the token contract itself, so rules can tighten as easily as they loosen. What I want to see from here: More Coinbase stocks landing on Base over the coming weeks, and whether borrow demand against equity collateral actually builds. Coinbase is the company laying these rails, and our PRO team has owned it since it was below $60 (now ~$180) Don't miss their next call, try Milk Road PRO for $1: link.milkroad.com/crypto-p
