One Warriors player was a DoorDash driver and gardener just 3 years ago.
Now, he’s Steph Curry’s teammate and a rotation player for the 4-1 Warriors.
Meet Lindy Waters III, and his story is incredible.
In HS, he was Trae Young’s teammate.
After college, he played semi-pro ball for The Basketball League - where he’d have to drive to a different state in the middle of the night just to play a game.
Lindy then became a DoorDash driver and a gardener on the side, just to make some money.
His semi-pro team won the championship, and he got a call to try out for OKC’s G-League team.
And in 2022, he earned a 2-way contract with the Thunder.
Fast forward to June 2024, when the Warriors traded for him on draft day.
Golden State reportedly had him very high on a list of lesser-known players who could make an impact in the right situation.
He may have found the right situation.
Early in the 2024-25 season, the Warriors have a deep team - but Lindy Waters III is earning playing time.
He’s shooting a scorching 47% from deep.
Last year, he was even a finalist for the NBA Social Justice Champion award - for his work with Native American youth and Indigenous communities.
He was cutting grass to make money just 3 years ago. And now, it’s impossible not to root for him.

Pure magic.
How else can you describe it?
The greatest regular season of all time.
They decimated…
They destroyed…
They shocked the world.
73 wins?
That’s nothing.
The best offense in the league.
The best start in NBA history.
The Coach of the Year.
And it doesn’t end there.
Steph Curry became the 1st unanimous MVP.
The only player to shoot 50/40/90 on over 30 PPG.
Steph led the league in scoring, steals, and FT%.
“Making history” almost seems like an understatement.
The absolute greatest regular season ever.
Putting an end to
Asking if 2015 was a fluke.
Putting an end to
Wondering if their superstar could reach new heights.
Here they are.
The single greatest accomplishment in NBA history
Was now finished.
How clearly they could see it
The GOAT season

But then LeBron James upended everything in the 2016 Finals.
Read that caption again from the Cavs perspective - this time starting from the bottom and going up line by line.
And witness how the Cavs literally flipped the script.

Every fan wants to see Chris Paul go to a contender. And he probably will. But we have a more fun idea.
More fun than the Banana Boat Lakers or Homecoming Clippers. And this idea could still lead to a championship.
JOIN. WEMBY.
We expect LeBron-level things out of Victor Wembanyama. But what does that mean?
By 22 years old, LeBron led the Cavs to its first NBA Finals. By 23 he was the best player in the world. And by 27, he was a champion.
GMs believe Wembanyama can be the best player in the world by 22 years old. When San Antonio won the Wembanyama lottery, his first interview ended with "I want to win a ring ASAP!" And in an organization like the Spurs with a coach like Gregg Popovich, who are we to question it?
But something is missing. If they want Wembanyama to reach his "LeBron potential", he needs a mentor. An extension of Coach Pop on the court. A high-IQ veteran who knows how to get to the playoffs. A Point God.
Chris Paul made the Clippers cool. He elevated the Rockets to its highest level in over two decades. He turned the Suns from a joke to a contender. But his most underrated impact on the game was what he did for the Thunder.
A franchise that was starting over with a new star, prioritizing picks over playoffs, and nobody expected anything from them. CP3 brought OKC within one possession of advancing to the second round of the playoffs in ONE SEASON.
Nobody is guaranteed a championship. But there's another path to immortality for CP3.
Build the future. Mentor the menace. Be bold and mold what could be the greatest story ever told…🤷🏽♂️

The more I watch this Warriors team, the more I put last year’s championship into perspective
The dynasty should’ve been over. Klay not the same after those injuries. Draymond’s offense was so bad he got benched in the Finals
But Steph Curry willed that team to a title

Steph's gravity:
His defender has to fight over Poole's screen, before Poole's man switches onto Steph
Valanciunas anticipates the handoff and waits for Steph at the nail
As a result, Poole has the whole side of the floor open, created by Steph's gravitational pull

Klay Thompson had 42 points on 12-17 from 3
But he went 0-2 on 2's
How rare is that?
Klay is the first player in NBA history to score 42+ points on 0 made 2-point shots

Only NBA players in history to have:
3 PTS or fewer
13+ REB
13+ AST
Wilt Chamberlain
Charles Oakley
Draymond Green (tonight was his 2nd time)

Steph Curry tonight:
47 pts
8 ast
8 reb
70% FG
The last person to put up those numbers (min. 24 FGA) was Michael Jordan

Warriors run "Horns Stagger Twirl" to get Steph a 3
Out of "horns" (2 bigs in the high post), Steph and Looney look like they're setting a stagger screen for Moody
But it's actually "twirl action" where Moody curls off the Steph screen, and Steph uses Looney screen to get the 3
Defending Steve Kerr retweeted
The Warriors get a dunk out of their signature end-of-quarter play
1) Moody sets down screen for JaMychal Green
2) Green sets a ballscreen, while Wiseman sets exit screen for Moody
3) Lee knows the play and sticks to Moody. But Landale gets lost, and Wiseman slips free

The Warriors were -14 in the non-Steph minutes vs Nuggets (L)
They were -6 in the non-Steph minutes vs Lakers (W)
How Jordan Poole leads that bench unit will impact how far they get in the regular season
