99% of sports fans will never see their team win 4 championships in the midst of a dynasty.
I’m one of the lucky ones.
I’ll have to keep telling myself that after every game this Warriors season.
May be a long season, sure, but see first sentence.
For all the headlines circulating today about this - this isn’t news at all
I think I read about Steph’s keratoconus from @ThompsonScribe a long while back in The Athletic
It’s long been out there
Steph Curry says he suffered from a rare eye condition during the Warriors dynasty run:
“It was 2018… Bob Myers texted me after the game because apparently the telecast kept showing me when I was on the bench, and he was like, ‘You’re just squinting, looking like you couldn’t see anything… You should probably go… get that checked out’… They told me that I had a rare condition called Keratoconus… What I found out about it was it’s a progressive condition that can deteriorate your vision over time and it’s irreversible if it goes in the wrong direction… I joke that when I’m all done, my memoir should be called ‘The Whole Time I Couldn’t See.’”

I might be the only one who cares about all 3 today:
- NFL games
- Ben Shelton in the US Open Final
- USA vs France in the FIBA women’s World Cup
Everyone I know is into 1 or 2 of those, but haven’t found anyone else who’s into all 3.
JKS will be an NFL QB one day, 100%
But whoever scouts him will have to look past his INT stats and the team Cal has… to really see what he’s doing
JKS out here throwing some dimes that’ll go down as INT bc the WR just couldn’t hang on to it
As someone who’s watched Steph his whole career, I knew he was 110% locked in this game when he started riling up a hostile crowd
He only does that when he enters psycho mode. And he doesn’t lose on psycho mode
People forget what Steph was doing for Draymond during this run.
Draymond admitted the Boston crowd was getting to him, so Steph started drawing that energy toward himself.
Willingly baiting one of the most hostile crowds in the league on the biggest stage just to take pressure off your teammate is insane leadership
I love Conan but I’ve never seen this bit
This is genius.
Conan sold the “we accidentally double-booked them” apology just long enough for people to almost believe it.
Then Jon Dore and Rory Scovel started performing their entire sets at the exact same time.
The timing is insane. One goes loud while the other drops volume. Random punchlines keep cutting clean through the chaos. Halfway through they escalate with a guitar and an audience member at the perfect moment.
Four minutes of pure controlled madness that still feels fresh over a decade later.
This is still one of the smartest late night bits ever done.
Never seen chaos this fun
We almost getting to a point in civilization where someone’s tombstone will read:
“Here lies Tim.
Beloved husband
Loving father
Once had a viral tweet with 500k likes”
The Valkyries are the best team in the Bay Area right now.
True Contenders:
Valkyries
Contenders if the substation chills out:
49ers
Firmly on the rise:
Cal football
Sharks
They tried:
Warriors
I don’t follow baseball:
Giants
Feels like a good time to revisit this
An NBA reporter once asked locker room attendants in every city who the best players are with their tips and their time
The 3 names that consistently came up were Steph Curry, Draymond Green, and Russell Westbrook
Remember when Cavs media said “LeBron HAS to be coning home, he wouldn’t string Cavs fans along just to rip their hearts out”
Well… I guess he would.
Just saw Brand New Day.
Really solid Spider-Man movie. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Between this, The Odyssey, and Project Hail Mary… it’s been a peak year for movie theaters.
10 years from now, some sports writer is gonna write a book called:
“Owning Rings: How Ego Ended The Warriors And Bulls Dynasties”
…on how both front offices wanted to prove they could do it without their superstars, and then failed.
Book it.
“Ring chasing” and “superteams” are so normalized now bc of LeBron and KD
LeBron joins prime Maxey, Embiid, and Brown… after playing with Luka, AD, Kyrie, Love, Wade and Bosh…
Steph plays with KD for only 3 years and ppl still complain about it to this day
“It’s okay son, we’ve got LeBron at home.”
Steve Kerr already told Yaxel Lendeborg he might start for the Warriors next season, per @anthonyVslater
(h/t @TheNBABase)
All these guys need the ball in their hands to be successful.
Either everyone’s gonna eat, or no one is…
Heard a LOT of Cavs media saying LeBron was definitely coming home.
“It’s a done deal.”
“He wouldn’t do this to us again.”
“It was always Cleveland all along.”
And… I guess their sources just weren’t reliable at all.
So LeBron really did want to chase that extra ring
He was thinking about legacy then
When he does hang it up and people compare him to Jordan, Bron wanted a 5th ring in the conversation
So he joined the most stacked lineup possible to make it happen.
Just wow.
Okay so all those people saying LeBron to the Cavs/Heat/Warriors was a “done deal” really had no idea what they were saying then…
If I had a nickel for every time Cobie Smulders played the love interest for the main character of a popular show whose wife passed away…
I’d have 2 nickels. Which is not a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.
