So it's been 48 hours since we Launched Pulse for MSMEs So far, the response has been amazing, good learning as well. We are adding more features at a rocket speed. Today we shipped proactive intelligent insights of your finance sent to you everyday at 9 AM. One of the users were able to audit their current accounting system and Pulse was able to find out mistakes which they could share with their finance team. I am looking for more MSME business owners from x to try it out, share the feedback so we can improve. It's free for now, so use as much as you can. xitter.cf/DeepXP/status/21099523…

I would love to see SMEs here try it out and give me feedback to improve. It's free and takes just a minute to connect your Zoho Books or Tally.

I have been building Nova for the past one year, and one thing I have noticed is that accounting and finance problems are very different at different stages of a company. MSMEs are the most ignored. Every one of them gets pitched the same script: “You are busy with manual work, we will automate your accounting for you.” They keep getting cheap apps sold in the name of AI, but in reality, the work still depends on a person sitting and doing it. They don’t need another tool. What they are looking for is someone who understands their business as well as they do and stays on top of things for them. Talk to any founder and you will hear it: - I wish there were more than 24 hours in a day. - I wish I had my own carbon copy who could think like me, so I can focus on growing the business. - I wish I could take a week off without things falling apart. - I wish... We are cooking something to change that “I wish” to “I have”. Launching something exciting for MSMEs, powered by Nova’s rock solid AI agents in the background. More details next week.

Veteran actor Nana Patekar has passed away. The Hindi film industry and Mumbai share an inseparable bond. When one speaks of Mumbai, it encompasses its theatre, its world of commercial cinema, and the middle and lower-middle classes striving daily to carve out their identity, from slums to chawls. Then came the working class that gradually faced ruin in this city and across the country; the rise of the underworld born out of that social despair; the period where communal harmony unraveled before our eyes; followed by the post-liberalization expansion of middle-class aspirations and the politics swirling around it all. Through every such era, Nana Patekar made his presence felt, sometimes on stage, sometimes on screen. From ‘Hamidabai Chi Kothi’ to ‘Parinda’, ‘Krantiveer’, ‘Ab Tak Chhappan’, and all the way to ‘Natasamrat’, Nana remained ever-present. Across each phase, he brought to life, whether on the screen or the stage, the common man living with persistent inner turmoil. Anger, humiliation, powerlessness, despair, revulsion toward immorality, disillusionment with the system, and class struggle constantly simmer within the mind of the common man. It spills over only occasionally through petty arguments or domestic turmoil. Otherwise, it stays bottled up inside. Watching Nana perform felt like looking into this emotional pressure cooker of ordinary lives. When Nana, or the 'Angry Young Man' Amitabh Bachchan, confronted these realities on screen, they vented the steam trapped within the human psyche. As I often say, just as singers and composers like Lata didi, Asha tai, Kishore Kumar, and Rafi sahab, along with filmmakers, playwrights, directors, and artists, entertained Indian minds for at least 60 to 70 years, figures like Nana and Bachchan Sahab powerfully released that inner steam on screen. Had they not done so, chaos might have erupted in this country every month. Watching Nana act always reminded me of Hollywood's Morgan Freeman. Neither fit the conventional type of Bollywood or Hollywood actors of their times in terms of looks or persona. Watching Morgan Freeman, one often feels this is a man who has absorbed wisdom, patience, and a quiet acceptance of things as they are over time. With Nana's acting, however, I sensed fury, restlessness, and a deeply entrenched despair. Freeman represents a man who seems to have seen it all; Nana represents a man who has endured too much and can take no more. These are two opposite ends of the human spectrum. Because Nana could bring that second extreme to the screen with raw authenticity, he was a truly great artist. In the 2000s, polished, fair, and conventional leading men began making way for story-driven cinema, ushering in an era of character actors who could carry a narrative and draw audiences on merit. Nana was undoubtedly the pioneer of this era. The prominence that character actors enjoy today was paved by Nana. Yet, despite all this, he was fiercely individualistic, spoke his mind without filter, and was outspoken (though it hardly suits me to call anyone outspoken; be that as it may). Because of this, even when producers and directors wished to cast him, they often hesitated. Did this hurt Nana? One cannot say; he remained indifferent. But it certainly deprived Hindi cinema and its audience. While Nawazuddin Siddiqui and the late Irrfan Khan were undoubtedly brilliant performers, one wonders whether they and others like them would have found those same opportunities had Nana been willing to compromise. Moreover, Nana was not confined to aggressive or intense roles, through films like ‘Welcome’, he demonstrated to the world that he could handle comedy with equal prowess.

Sorry to interrupt your Sunday, friends. I really hesitated to write this, but if I don’t speak up today, I will be facing a severe financial crisis within a week or two. To be clear, I am not asking for charity or financial help. I am asking for work. I have been completely without work for the last three months. My last project ended on June 30th, and since then I have knocked on every door I know—calling, texting, meeting contacts, and following up. People say they will try, but after that first talk, the silence takes over. Calls go unanswered or get cut after a couple of rings. I honestly don't know whether the industry is shifting because of AI or if my age (52) is working against me, but despite over 13 years of solid experience in the field, nothing has materialized. Now, my savings are down to the very end. I can barely hold out for another week or two. I am a professional content writer, translator, and speaker who is comfortable on stage and in front of the camera. I write and translate fluently across Gujarati, Hindi, and English, with Gujarati being my strongest suit. Many of you already know my grasp of politics and my political writing, but I am equally adept at covering Bollywood and cricket. My priority is media houses, digital platforms, or publications, but I am open to any genuine writing or translation opportunity. I can work remotely or take up assignments on-site anywhere in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, as I need to be close to my elderly mother to take care of her health. Because my situation is urgent, I am especially looking for quick-turnaround freelance assignments or immediate projects where payments can be settled on submission. If you or anyone in your circle has work, please reach out to me directly in my DMs. A humble, earnest request: while I deeply value your warmth, please refrain from sending just "best wishes" or "stay strong" messages right now. I am fighting hard to stay out of a very dark headspace, and right now, only actual work leads can pull me through. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you for your support. My inbox is open. 🙏

I think spam options on TrueCaller are useless, the businesses which are verified on Truecaller are never marked as spam and never blocked. Thinking of cancelling TrueCaller as I end up blocking those numbers and reporting via TRAI's DND app anyway. Pretty sad.

We really need strict rules against these quick commerce 10 minute delivery apps. I ordered some of the exotics fruits from Amazon Now. One pack had fungus, another had fruit pieces had cut and another pack was underweight, may be it was opened. We trust these providers with highest quality standards and looks like they take the trust for granted. The platform refunded the money but this clearly puts doubts in the way they keep edible items.

Such a positive decision.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has taken a compassionate decision to allow police dogs to remain with the police force even after retirement. A police dog retires after completing 10 years of service. Previously, retired police dogs were often given up for adoption elsewhere, which could adversely affect their mental well-being, with some even refusing to eat. Fadnavis said a dog that has served the police force for 10 years should not be made to suffer after retirement. He emphasised that such animals should be cared for and allowed to spend the rest of their lives comfortably. Under the new decision, police dogs will retire from active duty after 10 years but will continue to remain with the police force and their handlers. The Home Department will bear the expenses for their food and other associated requirements. The decision aims to ensure the welfare of retired police dogs while preserving their bond with their handlers. (Source: Maharashtra Govt)

Some of the things I got done are like: HomeAssistant, my automation suddenly stopped sending voice notifications on HomePod and Echo. It traced the issue and fixed it for me and it started working as per the instructions. I kept delaying this for 2 months and spent few hours and sorted. Another things was to setup proper email sequence on CRM, man these days CRMs are so complicated, handed over this task via extension and it's doing it right now. Obviously, in any case, you must have knowledge of what needs to be done properly, with different workarounds but at-least this is speeding up lot of work for you.
