The Constitution says to count all persons. Not all “citizens” (or legal residents or green card holders or anything else.) All persons.
Did you know the Census Bureau included people living in the United States illegally in the 2020 count used to assign House seats?
The U.S. Census Bureau is deciding right now who gets counted for the 2030 Census that will divide House seats among states for the next decade.
The Bureau is considering adding a citizenship question (a simple question on the form asking about citizenship status) so it can identify and exclude noncitizens from the apportionment count.
Please submit a public comment by November 2 telling them to:
1.Include a citizenship question
2.Apportion House seats based ONLY on U.S. citizens (exclude all noncitizens, including green-card holders)
3.Conduct a true and accurate count. Count the population through actual enumeration—not algorithms, extrapolation, administrative records or artificial estimates used as substitutes for counting.
Your comment matters – we need YOUR support for citizen-based representation.

Election night 1960. They kept talking about Kennedy being ahead and then Nixon being ahead and I kept wondering why they didn’t show us these two people running a race instead of just talking about it. (Maybe I was thinking of the recent 1960 Olympics?)

Please. Someone who is smarter than I am. Work out how much it costs UTA to collect its fares. Machines. Tickets. Passes. Inspectors. And how much the system would save if it didn’t have those costs. I bet going free would nearly pay for itself.
UTA wants to raise fares. Utahns wonder why transit can’t be free instead kuer.org/politics-government…
Heartening to see that the UK has been a steadfast ally of Ukraine through five (or is it six?) prime ministers of both major parties. Wish I could say the same for US.
A good meeting with UK Prime Minister @AndyBurnham in London. We value our partnership and continue working together for security.
I briefed Andy in detail on Russian attacks against our cities, our people, and critical infrastructure. Wave after wave of drone attacks throughout the day and night today. Russia launched 124 drones overnight alone, and another 145 during the day. And right now, there are still more than 40 “shaheds” in our skies. They attack energy infrastructure, logistics, and railways. We managed to shoot down a significant number of the drones, but some got through. In terms of scale, this is one of the largest attacks. It is clear that the Russians are trying to take advantage of the problems with Starlink in Ukraine, as our interceptor drones depend on this connection among other things.
That is why it is especially important right now to strengthen our air defenses and provide Ukraine with everything it needs to protect lives. Today, a decision was made to accelerate deliveries of British-made air defense systems to Ukraine to counter jet-powered “shaheds.” And I am very grateful for this timely and much-needed assistance. I thank Andy, the people of the United Kingdom, the government, and His Majesty for their solidarity and support for our country during this brutal Russian war.

It took 72 years to get the 19th Amendment. You can take 30 seconds to sign up to track your ballot so you always know where yours is and when it’s been counted. Trackmyballot.utah.gov
Pleasantly surprised we have a US senator who knows who Seneca was. Must be the beard. Makes people smarter.
Once got a similar letter from the company that makes frisbees. Excuse me, Frisbees(R). After I’d written a column defending Frisbees from another newspaper’s columnist who had derided them. I complained and they sent me a free Frisbee(R).

Trump is found to have paid for most of the January 6th protestors. Jack Smith's new document drop shows that the Trump Campaign PAID for travel, hotels, expenses and organizing efforts to bring outside radical organizers to the Capitol on January 6th. Trump and his lackeys planned the assault on our Capitol.
New from me in Salt Lake Tribune : New book from @GovCox has a nearly fatal flaw in its argument. You should read it anyway.
