The 2026 #IRS Income #Tax year is more than 75% over. Today is October 19th or 20th depending upon where you live. Do you have money #goals you need to bring up to date or complete before the year is gone? Is it "Count up on the Scale" and "Count down on the Clock?"
Q4 planning, so important. Next week I start meeting with 100 clients, we review: YTD business income and wages Estimated tax payments Retirement contributions PTET and QBID calcs Now is the time to close the year on a strong tax note.

The ocean waters off California have never been this warm this late in the year. Water temps hit over 75°F off San Diego today, over 70°F off the Central Coast and near 67°F at Monterey. Ocean temperature anomalies are approaching +10°F in some areas.

We found a little bit of Germany here in New Braunfels🥹🇩🇪 After our 3-hour floating session, we went to Krause’s Cafe, a German restaurant. In there we found three other Germans, all wearing Germany jerseys and also doing a road trip through Texas. Before they left for San Antonio, one of us got on stage with them to sing a German classic. I’ll spare you the video. Afterwards, we ate a lot of German food. Bratwurst, Schweinshaxe, Sauerkraut, Schnitzel and so much more. The manager of the restaurant was also German, so today we got the full Germany experience. Really nice after being away from home for so many weeks. 🇩🇪❤️

"There are 5 seasons as per a 13yo whose dad is a #CPA: #Tax, Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. "
We had our 3rd Christmas decor Garage Sale today at my Dad' s house. Previously unknown neighbors, Mother/Daughter stopped by. Found out that daughters husband is a CPA and that their 13 year old says: "There are 5 seasons at their house - #Tax, Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter."

I know there are several in the #tax and #accounting community who can relate to this, but don't remember every ones name that has made comments recently, I am using hashtags instead. #parenting

"A close relationship between stepparent and stepchild doesn't automatically create inheritance rights. In most cases, a stepchild who hasn't been legally adopted has no automatic right to inherit from a stepparent under intestacy laws." @MarkSGallegos
Modern families come in many forms, and your estate plan should reflect yours. Careful planning can help ensure adopted children, stepchildren, and other loved ones are provided for according to your intentions. #Tax #Taxes #Finance sprou.tt/17YdoSiJf93

I'm looking at how to get two phone numbers for voice and text on my cell phone. The idea is to stop the 15% or so of clients who have my personal cell (Covid hangover) from using it. This other number I can turn off when I'm not working. Anyone open to talking with me?

THE HIDDEN LANGUAGE OF PATTERNS Overthinking = Control Seeking People Pleasing = Safety Strategy Perfectionism = Judgment Fear Procrastination = Feeling Avoidance Self-Sabotage = Familiar Protection Withdrawal = Nervous Defense Comparison = Worth Seeking Hypervigilance = Safety Scanning Indecision = Conflict Within Busyness = Emotional Escape Numbness = Inner Shelter Defensiveness = Wound Protection Control = Uncertainty Fear Repetition = Unfinished Lesson Awareness = Pattern Breaker The unconscious repeats what consciousness has not yet understood. Names, places and circumstances may change while the hidden architecture remains the same. Recognition interrupts the cycle. Once a pattern becomes visible, it no longer moves through life entirely unseen. Which repeating pattern revealed the deepest lesson?

#Communication ability may be an inherent gift for some and require a lot of work for others. Some thoughtfully respond, some react. To learn/understand, a #trauma #emotion search produces possibilities to consider. Parent divorce/illness/death can start or stir the pot. #health
HOW TRAUMA CAN AFFECT GENERATIONS? Trauma doesn’t always end with the person who experienced it. Sometimes, it continues through the patterns they unknowingly pass down. A parent who was never allowed to express emotions may raise a child who struggles to understand their own feelings. A person who grew up in survival mode may mistake control for safety, silence for peace, and emotional distance for strength. A family that never learned how to communicate may pass down generations of unspoken pain, unresolved conflict, and love that is felt but rarely expressed. Children don’t just inherit family traditions. They can also inherit fears, coping mechanisms, attachment patterns, and beliefs about what love is supposed to feel like. What one generation doesn’t heal, the next may learn to normalize. But this is where the cycle can change. The moment someone begins to question the patterns they grew up with, they create an opportunity for something different. Healing means learning to communicate where there was silence. Choosing understanding where there was judgment. Establishing boundaries where there was dysfunction. Giving children the emotional safety we may never have experienced ourselves. It means recognizing that our parents may have been wounded people doing the best they could with what they knew, without denying the pain their actions caused. We can have compassion for their wounds without continuing their patterns. And we can honor our ancestors without repeating everything they survived. You are not responsible for the wounds that came before you, but you can take responsibility for what you choose to carry forward. Let the pain teach you, not define you. Let the cycle end with awareness, not resentment. Sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do for generations you will never meet is to begin healing the parts of yourself that were never given the chance to heal. Because healing is not just personal work. It can become a different inheritance. What if you are the generation that finally learns a new way to love, communicate, and live?

THE QUIET SIGNS OF GROWTH Discomfort = Old Shape Tightening Distance = Space for Clarity Solitude = Inner Reordering Restlessness = Direction Changing Confusion = Old Map Failing Grief = Former Self Releasing Anger = Boundary Awakening Silence = Energy Returning Discernment = Standards Rising Saying No = Self Trust Growing Starting Over = Courage in Motion Uncertainty = Identity Expanding Patience = Roots Deepening Consistency = Future Forming Peace = No Longer Proving Transformation rarely announces itself with certainty. Old maps begin to fail before a new direction becomes visible. Familiar places feel smaller. Silence becomes necessary. What once looked like confusion may be consciousness refusing to return to an outdated form. Which line describes a change you only understood afterward?
