Hang on, pubs are obliged to provide tap water FOC unless ive misunderstood? If the non alky classes on religious grounds want to go to the pub it’s a free ride surely and if they want to go crazy they can splash out on 50ps worth of lime squash?

Religious hate crimes, you say?
This Islamophobia Awareness Month, we must shine a light on the abhorrent hatred and discrimination Muslims continue to face.
In the last year alone, religious hate crimes targeting Muslims rose by 15% in England and Wales.
This is utterly unacceptable. London will always stand against hatred, prejudice and discrimination.

Nigeria.

Part of Nigel Biggar’s article in The Sunday Times today, reminding us that a careful reading of history, by an historian who know what he’s talking about, is a big improvement on what too often passes for debate about slavery reparations.

Unelected officials are rubbish at reading the room. Cocooned in their ivory towers, they've never had to stand for election and they're completely unaccountable to electorates.
The EU got it completely wrong when they decided to make a monkey out of David Cameron and it resulted in a referendum, the outcome of which the out of touch failed to predict.
The Polish response to the attempted coup looks to be a similarly misjudged own goal by EU zealots.
Rather than shaping policy to reflect current political realities, the EU tries to double down on its doctrines. It's always a decade behind the times; slow, cumbersome, unable to be dynamic and in touch. It is the torpid author of its own demise.
It's crucified industry across Europe with its suicidal green agendas. It's destroyed businesses with excessive regulation, whilst simultaneously allowing sub standard imports from the Far East to flood the market.
Less than 2 decades ago Europe's economy was on par with the US, yet now it trails pathetically behind, unable to unleash itself from dogmatic, unyielding policy.
It finds itself swamped with illegal immigration; the very existence of Europe's cultural and historic identity is being extinguished before our eyes, but Shengen must be preserved at all costs and what a dear price we're all paying.

I've seen the BBC create a programme on slavery.
I watched the biased BBC Breakfast comments today saying Britain was involved in slavery, which we were.
I've yet to see the BBC do an historical documentary on William Wilberforce and Britain ending the legality of the global slave trade and spending a fortune in cash and lives enforcing it on the high seas.
When Britain was the first to recognise this was wrong, we did something about it - large. The BBC never caveat all their slave trade comments and programmes with any reference to the size, scale and commitment of what Britain actually did throughout the world to abolish slavery.
De-fund the BBC.

Not a single comment on the ongoing slave Labour of the Uyghurs. Not a single comment on the Arab slave trade, but give him an opportunity to bash Britain and he will grab at it with both hands.

SIR PATRICK STEWART (1940-2026)
Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end. You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love.
We first met as ambitious young actors with the Royal Shakespeare Company half a century ago but we weren’t in the same productions. My first strong memory was a few years later, meeting him in the street in central London when he told me about an offer to take over a leading part in 'Star Trek'. “But Patrick think of your stage career in the UK. Do you really want to risk—getting lost in Hollywood for years and years?”. Well, he took the risk and thank goodness for us all that he did for not just his devoted Trekkies but film and theatre audiences, who marvelled at his using international celebrity to star in a string of cinema successes ('X-Men' of course) and in great classical plays by Shakespeare, Ibsen, Arthur Miller, Peter Shaffer, Pinter and Beckett at Stratford-upon-Avon, in London’s West End and on Broadway.
America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire.
His farewell performance in 'Avengers: Doomsday' is yet to be seen.
