A Restore Britain Government will do what needs to be done - civil unrest and rioting will inevitably follow. We must be ready for that, and the public must be prepared too. What needs to happen will be incredibly painful. But it is all absolutely necessary to save our home.

A statement like this should end the political career of those making it. The horrific reality of what people like Lowe are proposing is beyond the comprehension of most of us. But he’s spelling it out. We deserve better than this. We are better than this.

It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically. Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country. Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case. Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve. In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota. The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.

Lot this morning about Reform's "vetting". When some of the most senior figures embrace Ethno-Nationalism, advocate machine gunning refugee boats and subject Kemi Badenoch to vile racial slurs, what does vetting really mean. What's Reform's decency threshold actually meant to be.

Today marks five years since the tragic murder of Sir David Amess. As the MP for Southend West and Leigh, I reflect often on Sir David's legacy, his hard work and dedication, and his deep passion and love for all things Southend.

Rancid. But sadly, no surprise to many of us. These comments are being said openly, online, day in and day out. It’s why I have replies off on here. Yesterday, I posted a photo with our newest MP, Sagal. I deliberately kept the photo off here. Opened facebook this morning to be greeted with a sewer of disparaging racist and threatening comments and messages. These aren’t bots, they are real people, photos of their families, grandchildren, where they live, all readily available on their fb profiles. They are emboldened to behave this way. They think they can say things with impunity. And in some ways they can, because for the past decade leaders of political parties haven’t stood up firmly or at all against this. They’ve used the division for their own political gain. It’s not enough to simply call out racism, those in public life have a duty to be actively anti-racist. Britain of today deserves our dedication to this. True patriotism is remembering those who fought and died for our freedoms in this country, the commonwealth forces who stood side by side with British forces defending Britain and the people of Britain. The country that has given my parents and so many living here a second chance to life, safety and security to rebuild and flourish. I’m born and raised here. I love my country. But it is on all of us to bring us together. Don’t let the causal comments slide, call it out, challenge it, stand up for decency. There are enough malign actors in the world who wish to do Britain harm - whatever political differences exist - we only harm ourselves if we let these fake patriots use race and or religion to divide us. Call it out 👇🏾
Warning: Distressing and graphic language A Reform councillor from South London has been recorded calling for King Charles to be decapitated because he “is a Muslim”, while another senior Reform councillor from Solihull said of Asian people: “drag out of their homes, stick them on planes and **** them off to Pakistan.” It’s part of an undercover investigation by ITV Exposure into Nigel Farage’s Reform UK. Councillor Dean Miller told us he was heavily medicated at the time due to a chronic pain condition and has since resigned from Reform. Councillor Raymond Dunning did not respond to our request for comment. In a statement shared with ITV News, Reform UK said "Where members, activists and councillors have clearly behaved inappropriately, investigations have commenced. In some cases, there have been suspensions and due process must be followed." "Reform UK has improved and prioritised its vetting procedures, but from time to time, a handful of individuals who do not share our values will initially make it through vetting. This is the same for all organisations." Watch ‘Undercover: A Year in Reform’ on ITV1 & ITVX from 10:20pm on Sunday

Zelenskyy: "When our strikes reached Yandex data centers, it suddenly became little easier to breathe on many social media platforms. Many people noticed it. There was less hate, less division, fewer provocations because there were fewer bots. It's pretty clear where those bots were coming from. If they disappeared when Yandex went offline, this proves once again that Europe is not the source of the problems." The big problem is that Russia figured out how modern society consumes information a decade ago, but the West hasn't. There are millions of bots commenting and posting Russian propaganda. There are paid influencers spreading it, with Russian bots supporting their content. There is a gigantic machine operating to radicalize and influence Western societies, and there is not enough defense in place. It doesn't just influence elections, it sows discord, engulfs societies in culture wars, radicalizes teenagers, and shapes political decisions when elected officials fail to read the room. That needs to change. And fast.

Reform have basically run out of road now. Their entire summer has consisted of a series of increasingly extreme policies and statements on immigration and race. Now there is essentially no-one left to exclude from, or throw out of, the country where do they go next.
Today, I am announcing that a Reform UK Government will SHUT DOWN the asylum system. This is a national security emergency and must be dealt with. Watch LIVE at 11AM to find out more.

Of all the jobs where being ‘secretive’ is ok, I’d suggest the actual *National Security Adviser* is pretty high up the list, tbf.
The PM of Mauritius has met with Labour's secretive National Security Adviser, Jonathan Powell, to discuss the Chagos Islands. Labour won't say what was discussed, but the Mauritian Cabinet meeting report confirms that they are threatening the UK with more lawfare and have met their lawyers. Rather than entertaining Mauritius any further, if Labour believes in our national security, they should defend British sovereignty and scrap their £35bn Chagos surrender treaty.

A very good and timely conversation with UK Prime Minister @AndyBurnham. Thank you for the support and for your condolences to all those who have lost loved ones because of Russian attacks. I briefed the Prime Minister on such Russian strikes that have continued unabated throughout the day today against various Ukrainian cities – aerial bombs, “shaheds,” ballistic missiles. Air defense is, of course, the first priority. And, importantly, there should be real decisions to protect lives in Ukraine and to support our joint work in Europe for security. British leadership is always significant, and it matters that the UK will continue to ramp up sanctions pressure on Russia for its escalation. We discussed this and what could truly help diplomacy work. We are preparing the right joint steps and a meeting. Thank you.
