A lot of 2A folks like to dunk on Steele because he's an Everytown mouthpiece. "Sr. Comms Director," as he likes to boast, but they forget... or just don't know... that he has a deep background in Political Comms. Before Gun Control PSAs, messaging formulation, and trolling 2A folks on X, he spent years in electoral politics and campaign communications. That includes working around Senate and presidential campaigns, rapid response, and Democratic opposition research. (Emphasis on OPPOSITION RESEARCH) He's accustomed to thinking in terms of audiences, especially on socials, and finding "usable moments" to twist his own messaging. He gets paid the big Bloombucks to NOT care what people on social media thinks of him. Instead, his job is to find topics and "twist" them to Everytown's agenda. The Cekada interaction with Max last night was actually ammo for him and Everytown. Max is not worried about changing the minds of 2A folks on socials. His job is to keep the attention of those who follow and agree with Everytown, and give them enough info to educate others. All that said, though... it brings me GREAT JOY to see that Max is taken by Kostas. 😂 Over the last several months of watching him, I've noticed that Max has positioned Kostas as sounding board or sorts. It's wild to watch. Because Kostas triggers Max enough to keep him coming back for more, and on a different level than just "gathering info"... I wholeheartedly believe that Max is sizing Kostas up as his "true" opponent in the 2A/Anti 2A fight.
