I do challenge the advice about stockpiling Sauvignon blanc.
Surely better to stockpile a red - because if the power goes down, the white would be room temperature, which would be simply ghastly.

Green Party Councillor vehemently objects to Prime Minister spending an hour in an evening helping to raise money for a cancer charity. Ok then 🤦♂️
'Is that a really good use of his time?'
'Raising money for a cancer charity?'
The Green Party's @floschechter brands Andy Burnham going on Gogglebox as 'ridiculous'.

Standing room only for John Curtice’s briefing on the Tories’ electoral chances at the Conservative Party Conference. He has just told the activists here that the Tories are doing no better than the 2024 general election. 😳
The Tories will make taxpayers foot the bill for the super rich to have free childcare. Tone deaf. They have a long way to go.
Oh look. The “I don’t see colour” brigade have started seeing colour again.
Grim.
Amy Hunt won four gold medals at the European Championships. Yet 70% of GB relay athletes were black. Are we not allowed to notice – let alone ask why? asks Dr Roger Watson.

Let me say this very directly.
Football does not belong to investors. It belongs to the people who fill the stands and who stand on the touchline week in, week out, rain or shine.
The World Cup is not a product. It is the greatest competition in world sport, and it was never anyone's to sell. Dress the deal up however you like. Once you have sold a piece of it, you have sold out.
Football belongs to the fans. It always has, and it always will.

I will accept Nigel Farage’s request to be appointed Steward and Bailiff of the Manor of Northstead.
It is a farce and a desperate distraction, and the people of Clacton deserve better.
But if he wants to spend the summer arguing with a bin, I won't stop him.

…but depressing to see the Conservatives make the same comparison….
Nothing screams contribution and patriotism than tax avoidance.
With respect David, my family came to Britain legally and chose integration, contribution and patriotism. I could afford to leave and protect my family elsewhere. Most Brits can’t. Instead, I choose to stay and argue for practical, common-sense policies that preserve the values that made Britain worth coming to in the first place.
Common sense patriotism involves paying your taxes you authoritarian Gibbon.

There’s live TV, and then there’s Beastie Boys tearing through “Sabotage” on Letterman in 1994 like they were trying to blow the roof off the place.

🚨 NEW: Labour’s biggest union donor, Unite, has held secret talks with Reform UK about resolving the Birmingham bin strikes

The UK leads the world in renewable energy. Why do Reform hate this country so much?
I am looking at the legal case to push for a Judicial Review against mad Ed Milliband granting the UKs largest Solar Farm.
Will keep you posted.

Since @Ofcom seems to have given up, we asked 20 experienced journalist from a wide range of backgrounds to watch multiple hours of @GBNEWS . Their conclusion: the supposedly regulated channel has, in effect, become Reform TV. How did it happen? thenewworld.co.uk/alan-rusbr…

That Trump started the attacks on Iran without even having the semblance of a plan to keep the Strait of Hormuz open is both a mystery and a scandal — from which he might not recover politically. Republican grandees in swing seats/states now beginning to panic, flooding White House with calls to ‘do something’ as gas [petrol] prices soar.

Something a bit nauseating about all these MPs in today’s Commons piling in against the Andrew who was formerly Prince now it’s safe to do so. About as brave as shooting trout in a barrel. And it wasn’t that long ago many of these same MPs were bowing and scrapping before Andrew and other Royals. Mr A Windsor is rightly getting his comeuppance. But I could do without the grandstanding hypocrites of the Commons.
