Paper from my PhD with @DarrenObbard, describing our experiment looking at the fitness costs of non-isolated Drosophila viruses, is now out in Proc. B - doi.org/10.1098/rspb.2024.05…. 5 viruses associated with reduced lifespan in Dmel females, and 3 with total no. of adult offspring

We are continuing our sequencing with the goal of hitting 1,000 drosophilid genomes by the end of next year. Please reach out if you are interested in collaborating on genomes: no cost to you and the only stipulation is open data.

With @_hgellert, Sam Church, @AntonySuvorov, @PetrovADmitri and others, we use low-input (down to 30ng), single-insect @nanopore sequencing to help do 184 new genomes and address the near absence of genomic data for drosophilid species that cannot be cultured in the lab.
