What happens to a dream deferred? Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a soreβ
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat? Or crust and sugar overβ like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?

I find it funny that people underlook VU degrees and masters yet we share the same pool of lecturers. Most universities in Kla share lecturersππππ

Who's in the dark when the power goes off?
In 18 months of UEDCL planned shutdowns, notices named:
Hospitals & clinics: 222 times
Water pumps: 183 times
Factories: 505 times
Markets, malls, hotels: 416 times
And that only counts the ones they named.

Does rain cause power cuts?
Every unplanned UEDCL fault, placed on a 24-hour clock shows that 60% of them came within 6 hours of rain, against 28% of all hours.
After rain, a fault is ~2.2x more likely.

I always considered myself a well-rounded person. Then I got a PhD and became an expert on a topic that only 7 people understand. Four of them think Iβm an idiot.

Kampala from space: January 2017 to June 2026.
Sentinel-2 picks up ~18 kmΒ² of new building in the city core alone (cyan).
Then the yellow rings: 484 places in this frame named in planned-shutdown notices.
The grid is chasing the city...

3 years without my dad. Most days it feels like yesterday.
This summer, I turned my grief and love into words: In My Father's Eyes, a daughter's memoir of independence, legacy, and the search for enough.

Those were absolutely good questions and this is my first time coming across this level of social journalism jn Uganda. Around the world the government is often the biggest employer and easiest place to have a huge jmoact on people without necessarily having a product to sale for profit but in Uganda, the government is also the worst at delivering on its mandate so its paradoxical to thing an expat like him would be of granular use no matter how smart ge is.

It's always someone who's never travelled, who has no business in the country, who's not verified, who doesn't benefit their societies and an android user like you who writes all these nonsense.
