The policies approved by the Police Commission bar monitoring protests, for example, but there are many ways police can still watch.

i sent in this questions from a DSA comrade to the KQED forum with Lurie this morning. His answer is an obvious dodge -- basically, he won't say whether he commits to directing his own housing department to spend Prop I and C funds on new construction.

I truly do not understand why the mayor thinks this blatant lie is savvier campaign rhetoric than just being honest & saying “I want to cut this tax.” even ppl I know who don’t support Prop I absolutely hate that he’s going around trashing nonprofit builders & his own department

Umm…is the founder of a weather manipulation startup celebrating dead Hoover Dam workers as martyrs to Progress something we should worry about?

James Carville says he'd rather have Republicans keep control of the House than Democrats winning the chamber by 5 seats.
"I would rather the Republicans keep the House by five than the Democrats win by five, because if that happens, they’re hostage to the DSA. Like, Hakeem cannot move. There’s no place for him to go."

SEIU 1021 has overwhelmingly voted to strike. IFPTE 21, which has been far more active for several years is still voting, but the odds of not following suit seem low. The City's unwise choice to make millionaires out of OPD veterans is going to cost residents dearly

It's amazing that the SF mayor is trying to run a campaign against affordable housing, demonizing nonprofits. He has so many nonprofits.

Replying to @real_duder
You're not going to love this take, but the city would literally be better off with a fire that burned most structures down, provided we actually used the opportunity to rebuild properly and didn't pull an LA of only rebuilding single-family homes.
Caveat is you need a respectful warning like a foreshock so that people don't die.
