Last week I attended an awesome lecture put on @OhioStateMed by @Jace_Greenwald and @mackey_alfonso on sex trafficking. The survivor speaker had me thinking a lot about missed opportunities for screening early #traumainformed
One of the most impactful statements from.our survivor was I would have asked for help sooner if I knew there were resources and people cared. Are you asking the questions? Offering the resources? #notforsale @OhioStateEMRes @OhioStateMed
When getting more specific, it’s not best to ask “have you been raped?” or “are you being trafficked?” Overwhelmingly survivors who are in an active situation don’t identify with these terms.
