In an interview with Neil Mitchell that aired today the Director General of ASIO Mike Burgess has made the extraordinary statement that "I wouldn't rule out the possibility that Iran would want to kill prominent Jewish Australians".  When the head of Australia's leading Security and Intelligence Agency goes public with his "grave concern" that it is only a matter of time before Australian citizens are killed on Australian soil by a foreign power it must ring alarm bells across the nation.  What is more Mike Burgess's warning comes just days after he revealed that Australian authorities have thwarted 16 serious terrorist threats since  the Bondi massacre just last December. This is a most serious and dangerous time for our nation. After the unacceptable security failures that preceded the Bondi attack where 15 innocent souls lost their lost their lives the Government and its agencies must take urgent and stronger action than we have seen to date to protect not just Jewish Australians but all Australians. We must all call for and expect nothing less.

You cannot be pro-life and support torture. Christians have a moral duty to condemn torture in every circumstance. Those of you who rejoice in others' suffering commit grave sin. Those of you who refuse to condemn torture, especially the torture of those with whom you disagree, have failed the most basic test of Christianity. High school requires girls to disclose their menstrual cycle—or lose a grade. Parents must send a note in writing to gym teacher with "suspected length of their cycle." If female student does not participate—it will result in "loss of points toward final grade." Students who bring in the required note from their parents will then be required to complete "dry land" exercises—to make up for the missed swimming. "For sure against privacy for the young ladies that are going to class," said a parent. "And they shouldn't have a grade reduction." Lakeview High School says they plan to "engage parents in a conversation" about the new policy. The school is located in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. In 1994, a 17-year-old Boy Scout named David Hahn tried to build a nuclear reactor in his mother's garden shed in Michigan. He came closer than anyone expected. After earning a merit badge in Atomic Energy, David became obsessed with building his own breeder reactor. He had no way to get real nuclear fuel, so he improvised. He pulled americium out of hundreds of smoke detectors, scraped radium off antique clocks, and took thorium from camping lanterns. To learn how to assemble it all, he wrote letters to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, pretending to be a science teacher. It never became a working reactor. But by the summer of 1994, the radiation in the shed was 1,000 times higher than normal, and could be detected several houses away. David realized he had lost control. He took the reactor apart and loaded it into his car. But local police, responding to a report of suspicious activity, searched his trunk. He warned them that some of the material was radioactive. The FBI, the EPA, and a federal nuclear emergency team were called in. Ten months later, men in protective suits tore down the shed and buried it in the Utah desert as radioactive waste. David refused to be tested for exposure. His life fell apart after that. His mother died two years later. He joined the Navy and served on a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, but was banned from going near the reactors. He was later diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. In 2007, he was arrested again. He had been stealing smoke detectors from his apartment building. David Hahn died in 2016, at 39. The autopsy found alcohol and fentanyl in his system. It had nothing to do with radiation.
