Every time I feel creeping burn out due to the environment of pervasive misogyny and endless news of sexual assault & domestic violence, I open my messages to find a note from an online stranger or acquaintance who is a survivor. They tell me that they feel seen. That their pain feels recognized in a way that matters so profoundly. That they feel less alone.
It is a reason why I will never stop speaking out against this culture of violence and these systems of power. Because all those who have had their humanity denied them deserve to have that humanity restored.
