السبب إن الشرطي اللي وقفها استخدم نظام ذكاء اصطناعي يقرأ لوحات السيارات عشان يبحث عنها ويتتبعها، بدون أمر قضائي وبدون أي شبهة.
القصة إن شرطي في أوكلاهوما شاف سيارة لوحتها من كاليفورنيا على الطريق السريع. ما عليها بلاغ ولا مخالفة ولا شي، بس لوحة من ولاية ثانية. وهو يسوق فتح اللابتوب وبحث عن اللوحة في Flock، وهذي شبكة كاميرات ذكية منتشرة في آلاف المدن الأمريكية ومربوطة ببعض، تقرأ كل لوحة تمر قدامها وتخزنها.
طلع له 79 رصد خلال شهر من 11 جهة مختلفة، كاميرات محل في ميزوري وشرطة تكساس ونيومكسيكو وأريزونا. رسمت له رحلتها كاملة من ميزوري لكاليفورنيا ذهاب وعودة وكل وقفة في الطريق. وقفها بحجة إنها غيرت المسار بدون إشارة وقال لها بس تحذير، وبعدين قعد يسألها عن رحلتها. طلب يفتش سيارتها ورفضت، فطلب دعم وحجزها وفتشوا السيارة ولقوا الشبو.
القاضية قالت السبب الوحيد للبحث إن اللوحة من كاليفورنيا، وإن تتبع تحركات إنسان شهر كامل بدون أي شبهة انتهاك لخصوصيته حتى لو كان في الشارع، وسمّته مراقبة جماعية عشوائية. وكل الأدلة اللي طلعت بعد البحث ساقطة، بما فيها المخدرات.
والشركة نفسها طلعت لها هالسنة فضائح، بحث لصالح الهجرة بدون صلاحية، وبحث عن امرأة سوت إجهاض، وشرطي يتعقب طليقته. رئيسها التنفيذي اعتذر، وولايات ومدن ألغت عقودها.

“Let me die,” American photojournalist Heidi Levine repeats to journalists Jasper Nathaniel as they try to outrun masked Israeli settlers who attacked her on Friday while she covered the olive harvest in the West Bank village of Abu Falah, near Ramallah.
Around 80 settlers attacked Palestinian olive harvesters in the village, AP reported. The Palestinian Red Crescent said it treated six people injured in two attacks in Abu Falah.
Levine, a freelancer for the Washington Post, told the Committee to Protect Journalists that the settlers knocked her down and kicked her for at least 10 minutes, even after she identified herself as an American journalist. They stole her camera, phone and bag. She was eventually taken to a hospital in Ramallah.
"The IDF provided cover, with tear gas and machine guns, while the settlers beat" Levine "nearly to death," Nathaniel wrote, adding that soldiers then shot a Palestinian bystander and aimed their guns at and shoved paramedics trying to treat him. AP photos and circulating videos show Israeli soldiers standing over a wounded Palestinian man after they shot him.
Andrey X, an activist also at the scene, said a Palestinian man "saved our lives from the settler-terrorists who attacked the olive harvesters and journalists” armed only with a slingshot.

A U.S. congressman wants to change how we legally “own” video games.
Rep. Ritchie Torres has announced plans to introduce the Power To The Players Act, a bill that would direct the FTC to create rules protecting consumers who buy video games.
The proposal would give players three basic rights:
>The right to own the games they purchase, rather than simply receiving a revocable license
>The right to keep playing games after online servers are shut down, through an offline mode
>The right to transfer or resell games they own
Torres argues that if a company can take a game away simply by shutting down its servers, then the consumer didn’t really buy the game in the first place.
Torres also hopes the legislation could eventually establish a precedent for ownership rights across other parts of the digital economy:

Federal prosecutors and DA Ellis Boyle in the Eastern District of North Carolina allege all ten falsely claimed to be U.S. citizens to register and vote.
Here are their names.
Robert Harold Corbett, 69, Wake County. Prosecutors say he registered in 1998 and voted in the 2000, 2002, 2004, 2016, and 2024 General Elections.
That's 28 YEARS on the voter rolls!!!!!
Ramona Abreu-Exia, 71, Cumberland County. Registered in 2004. Prosecutors say she voted in EIGHT General Elections, plus the 2008 Primary.
Gjina Gojcaj McDonald, 60, Robeson County. Registered in 2008. Prosecutors say she voted in SEVEN General Elections, plus a 2019 Special Election and the 2012 Primary.
Karl Fout, 73, Cumberland County. Registered in 2008. Prosecutors say he voted in SEVEN General Elections, from 2008 to 2024.
Ludgardys Olena Matthews, 62, Cumberland County. Registered in 2009. Prosecutors say she voted in the 2018, 2020, and 2024 General Elections and the 2020 Primary.
Mervin Sylvester Bogle, 60, Harnett County. Prosecutors say he voted in the 2008 and 2012 General Elections and completed a ballot in 2024.
Lawton Caswell McKenzie, 46, Wayne County. Registered in 2007 and again in 2012. Prosecutors say he voted in 2012, 2020, and 2024.
James Edward Herrmann, 47, Cumberland County. Registered in 2018. Prosecutors say he voted in 2020 and 2024.
Lionel Paul, 62, Granville County. Registered and voted in 2024.
Eduardd Omar Majano Sosa, 22, Cumberland County. Prosecutors say he is in the country ILLEGALLY. Registered and voted in 2024.
Not a single one was a citizen.
That brings the total to 12 illegal voters indicted or convicted in this one district in 2026 alone.
Decades.
Election after election and nobody caught it.
