I assume this means they're swapping old the old meters for new ones, but I'm not sure what opportunities this will present. Never seen a router/collector in the neighborhood, so not sure how the current network even works.

The cool thing about this (to me) is that I engineered this, rather than just guessing if it would work. I actually used Euler's column formula to see if the threaded rod would buckle!

The solar array on top of this trailer weighs like 170 pounds, and I couldn't lift it safely. So I built a screw jack out of electrical conduit and a big Acme threaded rod, and now I can deploy the array safely from the ground.

Sadly, though, @UPS has failed to deliver the 6' length of 1/2'-8 Acme threaded rod that goes with these small bits. Supposed to be here yesterday, tracking website just says "Check back tomorrow for new delivery estimate." Nice.

Well, UPS tried to be helpful, but somehow they the threaded rod in transit. @McMasterCarr stepped right up though and overnighted a replacement after crediting my account. Now I have all the parts, but no time 😪
