In 24 years of watching 9/11 memorials and the reading of the names of the dead, I have never heard applause.
This morning the crowd did — because one brave widow, @TerrySStrada, looked at the leaders in front of her and refused to let the day pass in silence.
She called out Saudi Arabia’s role, the broken promises, and a string of administrations that protected the Kingdom instead of helping to deliver justice for the families.
A stunning, must-watch minute. Stand with the families.

I knew about Flight 93 - the other plane hijacked on 9/11, whose passengers stormed the cockpit and crashed the plane into a field rather than allow it to be used in another attack.
But I didn’t know that two fighter pilots - including 26yo Heather Penney, chosen alongside squadron leader Marc Sasseville because she happened to be already suited up and ready to go - had scrambled to their jets with no time to load weapons, intending to ram the passenger plane. A suicide mission, and one that would also have meant killing a whole plane full of civilians. They didn’t have to because those civilians did it for them. What incredible bravery and resolve.
On 9/11, the passengers of United Airlines Flight 93 stormed the cockpit, forcing the hijacked jet to crash in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
But before the world knew of their bravery, members of Washington, D.C.’s Air National Guard were prepared to make their own sacrifice.
@nickschifrin shares the story of pilot Heather "Lucky" Penney.

Every year on or right before 9/11, we show this video to our students. It’s not only powerful story-telling, it’s a reminder to a younger generation about how life altering 9/11 was for those of us who lived it. It’s only 10 min #themanintheredbandana

Excellent article on the power of true, active listening in the physician-patient relationship. #communicationskills #empathy
During patient interactions, asking the right questions is important—but careful listening is equally valuable. "How often do we truly listen well?" wonders @TexasChildrens' Matthew McEvoy in a @CLOSLER essay. stanford.io/3OlUUvY
