NIH defines underrepresented/disadvantaged populations in science as meeting 1-2 of 9 criteria. Realizing I check 6 of the boxes, it helped put my journey into perspective as I and Dr. Smith told Boston public high school students that they can have a future in STEM. @BUMedicine
