VRChat lets you upload a practically absurd amount of content. Worlds. Avatars. Assets. Experiences. You are given an enormous creative sandbox, and you can participate in most of it without paying them a dime. You have an incredible amount of freedom and potential here. And some of you take every fucking bit of it for granted. The moment something doesn’t go exactly your way, you threaten to unsubscribe. You boycott the things that actually make VRChat money. You attack monetization. You attack changes. You attack the company for trying to build a sustainable business around the enormous machine you expect to remain available to you. And this machine is complicated. The API seems like it wants to murder itself every 30 days, yet somehow the damn thing gets dragged back to life and keeps serving millions of interactions, avatars, worlds, instances, uploads, downloads, and social connections. That infrastructure is not free just because you are using it for free. You cannot demand unlimited creativity, endless storage, bandwidth, development, moderation, networking, servers, APIs, and continued platform development while simultaneously boycotting every attempt the company makes to generate revenue. Criticize VRChat. Hold them accountable when they screw something up. Absolutely. But acting like you are entitled to this entire ecosystem while actively fighting every mechanism intended to pay for it is fucking ridiculous. You were handed one of the strangest and most creatively unrestricted social platforms ever built. Stop acting like its continued existence is something you are owed.
