Artisan Book Reviews on 'Rags and Muffin': "... a delightful read for fans of urban fantasy ..." deusexmagicalgirl.com/2022/0…
I keep seeing accounts sharing clips from popular TV and movies with text over them.
I cannot believe the absolute garbage I'm seeing. This is why I've abandoned democracy as a political theory. People who watch this shit should not be allowed to vote.

So Tesla does a demo of a car that climbs vertical, stops at the top of a loop, FLIES DOWN, then jumps some trucks doing a kick flip, and casually breaks the 1 second zero to sixty acceleration barrier...
Okay, that's some cool shit. Yes, we argue over the commercial practicality, but you've got to admit from just the sci-fi tech demo sense, that's wild.
So I scroll through the interwebs and the conservatives I know are gleeful and making jokes about flying cars, and the smart people are thinking through possible applications, limitations, and ways this wild shit could or could not get used in real life. The really smart people are arguing about engineering, but regardless everybody is like "damn, that's cool."
Meanwhile all the comments from terminally online liberals are crying about Elon's politics. All they can do is focus on one dude disagreeing with them. They can't get past it. All they can do is minimize. They have no imagination. No excitement. It's just so sad. They're so SMALL.
So the conversations are like-
"Wow they just did some Matchbox stuff with an actual car."
"That's nothing. You're stupid. Elon supports Germany's AfD party. I am offended. You should have more critical thinking like me."
And sadly that's a paraphrase not an exaggeration. I just saw that one on Ron F's page. :D
I've got flying car truthers all over my timeline today.
Everyone, it seems, is ready to believe the conspiracy theories he personally finds convenient.
I don't want to share the post, which everyone's seen anyway, but I want to advise my fellow fathers of young girls not to share their daughters' photos on the internet.
I also advise not daring young men to fornicate with said daughters.
This is really the important part. The Catholic Church currently has an incoherent, emotion-driven, and flatly unrealistic view of criminal justice. That means, unfortunately, that she must be ignored when she speaks on that topic, until such time as she finds her brains again.
I would like to notify my fellow Catholics that they should not abbreviate "capital punishment" to "CP" when communicating via the internet. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
"Radical mercy" is no way to run a justice system. That's how you get tweakers randomly stabbing women in the street.
Modern man is soft, and he mistakes his own softness for compassion.
I recognise the considerable force of Prof. Feser's argument here & I agree that capital punishment cannot simply be declared intrinsically evil without creating serious difficulties for the continuity of Catholic teaching. But Scripture reveals a progressive movement from the restraint of vengeance through proportionate justice towards the radical mercy commanded by Christ. Even if the state has historically possessed legitimate authority to execute, does the Gospel not call Christian society to something higher when the innocent can be protected without taking the offender's life? Surely there is a distinction between establishing that a punishment is morally permissible in principle and establishing that its exercise remains consonant with the fullest expression of Christian justice?
One of the biggest problems today is that everyone's beliefs have become atomized. No one has a coherent system anymore.
If you think it immoral to execute a murderer, you have no coherent concept of justice. Absent a concept of justice, Christianity has no raison d'etre. /
The death penalty is inadmissible because it is an attack on the inviolability and dignity of the person. The common good can be safeguarded and the requirements of justice can be met without recourse to capital punishment: effective systems of detention have been developed that protect citizens while at the same time do not completely deprive those who are guilty of the possibility of redemption. #NoDeathPenalty
There's no excuse for this kind of mistake. xitter.cf/cold_and_quiet/status/…

Yeah.

What repels me about women's romance isn't the focus on emotions but the failure to understand honor.
Both men and women fantasize about a hero rescuing a woman from a villain. But in men's romance, the hero is Flash Gordon, and he rescues Dale from Ming the Merciless via a /
My first hit tweet. While you're here, check out RAGS AND MUFFIN, which doesn't have a lot of romance but does gave a lot of fighting.

Dang, this popped off. Makes me wish I'd spelled fiance correctly.
I've got a brilliant idea, guys. We could have, like, a ceremony with witnesses and a change in legal status. Wouldn't that be wild? Maybe that would, like, I dunno, ensure consent and respect dignity or some shit.
Replying to @sfmcguire79
The author suggests “adding a language of dignity alongside the language of consent.”
encounter romance for women, I inevitably find myself rooting for the supposed villain and not really believing in the bad things he's supposedly done. It's why I see Gaston as the hero of Beauty and the Beast; I just can't believe in his exaggerated oafishness. It would have /
