I deeply regret the ratification of the so-called ‘Libya - Türkiye maritime MoU’ by Libya’s House of Representatives.
I would like to express my solidarity with Greece and Cyprus.
This MoU infringes upon the sovereign rights of third States, does not comply with the Law of the Sea. It is null and void and cannot produce any legal consequences for third States.
The sovereign rights of all Member States should be respected in accordance with EU and international law.

In a phone call today with Saudi Foreign Minister @FaisalbinFarhan, I reiterated Cyprus’ full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and support to its sovereignty and territorial integrity after the Houthi attacks.
All attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure are unacceptable and should cease immediately.
Cyprus is a firm advocate of keeping the Red Sea and the Strait of Hormuz open to international shipping, ensuring freedom of navigation and safe passage according to international law, as reflected in #UNCLOS.
We reaffirmed our commitment to regional security and stability.

📣 Earlier this week, #CMMI welcomed H.E. Mr Bader Hood Al Mahmood, Undersecretary for Ports and Maritime Affairs at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications of the Kingdom of #Bahrain, and accompanying Bahraini officials, during their official visit to #Cyprus.
💡The visit followed the recent signing of a #Memorandum of Understanding between the Shipping Deputy Ministry of Cyprus and the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications of Bahrain to strengthen bilateral #cooperation in #maritime affairs.
💡The official visit was hosted by the Shipping Deputy Minister, Ms Marina Hadjimanolis. During the visit, the delegation was also accompanied by Mr Stavros Stavrou, President of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a member of CMMI’s Board of Directors, with discussions focusing on opportunities to strengthen #business ties between the two countries. 🇨🇾 🇧🇭
The visit provided an opportunity for CMMI to showcase its Smart #Marina testbed at Ayia Napa Marina, as well as its research infrastructure and technological #capabilities at its premises in Voroklini. The delegation was also introduced to CMMI’s work in areas such as #coastal defence, resilience and #restoration, highlighting the potential for future #collaboration. 🌊

The @CCCI_Cyprus led by its President, together with representatives of the Cyprus Defence and Space Industry Cluster, welcomed a delegation from Bahrain for a meeting focused on defence, space and dual-use technologies.
The discussion highlighted the significant potential for closer cooperation between Cyprus and Bahrain, not only in defence and space, but also across trade, investment, shipping, technology and innovation.
The Chamber remains committed to bringing the business communities of the two countries closer together and transforming the excellent bilateral relations into concrete business and technological partnerships.
