52 χρόνια μετά, η Τουρκία συνεχίζει να κατέχει παράνομα το 37% της πατρίδας μας, συντηρώντας ένα από τα μεγαλύτερα εγκλήματα της μεταπολεμικής ιστορίας της Ευρώπης.
Για 52 χρόνια αρνείται να δώσει απαντήσεις για την τύχη των αγνοουμένων, διευρύνει τον παράνομο εποικισμό, καταστρέφει τη θρησκευτική και πολιτιστική μας κληρονομιά και στερεί από όλους τους Κυπρίους το δικαίωμα να ζουν ελεύθερα στην πατρίδα τους.
Οι πράξεις της συνιστούν κατάφωρη παραβίαση του Διεθνούς και Ευρωπαϊκού Δικαίου, του Χάρτη των Ηνωμένων Εθνών, της κυριαρχίας, της ανεξαρτησίας και της εδαφικής ακεραιότητας της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας, καθώς και των θεμελιωδών ελευθεριών και ανθρωπίνων δικαιωμάτων όλων των Κυπρίων.
52 χρόνια μετά, η πληγή παραμένει ανοιχτή. Οι σειρήνες της τραγωδίας εξακολουθούν να ηχούν. Δεν ξεχνούμε. Δεν συμβιβαζόμαστε. Δεν αποδεχόμαστε τα τετελεσμένα.
Η μη λύση δεν είναι λύση. Δεν συμβιβαζόμαστε με τη διχοτόμηση. Στόχος μας είναι ο τερματισμός της παράνομης κατοχής, η απελευθέρωση και η επανένωση της πατρίδας μας.
Με οδηγό τη μνήμη και το δίκαιο, συνεχίζουμε τον αγώνα μας για μια βιώσιμη και λειτουργική λύση, βασισμένη στα ψηφίσματα των Ηνωμένων Εθνών, στις αρχές, στις αξίες, στο δίκαιο και στο κεκτημένο της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης.
Φτάνει. Yeter. Enough.

Cyprus strongly condemns the latest settler attacks in the occupied West Bank against diplomats from Belgium, France and Poland, Catholic representatives and a French mayor.
We take note of the ongoing investigation by the Israeli authorities and join the calls for those responsible to be swiftly held to account.
These incidents also reflect the alarming scale of settler violence against Palestinians.
Such unacceptable acts undermine the prospects for lasting peace and stability. International law must be fully upheld.
Cyprus reaffirms its support for the two-state solution, in line with the relevant UN resolutions.

Σειρά σημαντικών διμερών επαφών στο περιθώριο της Ευρωπαϊκής Διάσκεψης Προέδρων Κοινοβουλίων στη Ρώμη.
Συνάντηση με τον Πρόεδρο της Βουλής των Κοινοτήτων του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου, Sir Lindsay Hoyle, με επίκεντρο την διακοινοβουλευτική συνεργασία και την κοινή βούληση για περαιτέρω ενίσχυσή της σε όλα τα επίπεδα, καθώς βεβαίως και τις τελευταίες εξελίξεις στο Κυπριακό.
Το Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο μπορεί να διαδραματίσει καταλυτικό ρόλο στην επανέναρξη των διαπραγματεύσεων για την επίλυση του Κυπριακού, δεδομένου του ρόλου του ως συντάκτης (penholder) των ψηφισμάτων με ομολογουμένως καθοριστική επιρροή. Η μή παρέκκλιση και προσήλωση στο διαπραγματευτικό συμφωνημένο πλαίσιο αρχής, τόνισα, καθίσταται ζωτικής σημασίας ειδικά εν όψει της αδιάλλακτης στάσης της Τουρκίας.
Συζητήθηκαν επίσης οι σχέσεις Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου - Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης, καθώς και οι προκλήσεις στον τομέα της ασφάλειας και της άμυνας στην Ευρώπη και η ανάγκη συλλογικής αντιμετώπισής τους.
Τέλος, συζητήθηκαν θέματα αμοιβαίου ενδιαφέροντος και ενδυνάμωση της μεταξύ μας συνεργασίας (Κύπρου - Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου) με έμφαση στους τομείς της εκπαίδευσης, του εμπορίου και της επιχειρηματικότητας.

Ο Υπουργός Εξωτερικών @CKombos συμμετείχε στις εργασίες του Συμβουλίου Εξωτερικών Υποθέσεων της EE, που πραγματοποιήθηκε σήμερα στο Λουξεμβούργο.
Στην ημερήσια διάταξη του Συμβουλίου ήταν, μεταξύ άλλων, η συνεχιζόμενη ρωσική επιθετικότητα κατά της Ουκρανίας και η κλιμακούμενη υβριδική εκστρατεία της Ρωσίας κατά της ΕΕ, η κατάσταση στη Μέση Ανατολή, καθώς και η στρατηγική σημασία της διεύρυνσης της ΕΕ για την ευρωπαϊκή ασφάλεια.
Στο πλαίσιο των εργασιών του Συμβουλίου, ο Υπουργός Εξωτερικών προέβη σε ενημέρωση των ομολόγων του για τις τελευταίες εξελίξεις σε σχέση με το παράνομο «Μνημόνιο Συναντίληψης» μεταξύ της Τουρκίας και της παράνομης αποσχιστικής οντότητας στις κατεχόμενες περιοχές της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας. Αφού επεσήμανε ότι το παράνομο μνημόνιο αφορά στην κατασκευή υποθαλάσσιου αγωγού φυσικού αερίου, τόνισε ότι πρόκειται για πράξη κατά κατάφορη παραβίαση του διεθνούς δικαίου και των κυριαρχικών δικαιωμάτων της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας. Υπογράμμισε ότι αποτελεί μέρος ενός ευρύτερου σχεδιασμού της Τουρκίας, σημειώνοντας ότι μόνο τον Ιούλιο και τον Αύγουστο καταγράφηκαν και καταγγέλθηκαν στον ΟΗΕ 659 παραβιάσεις του εναέριου χώρου και της Αποκλειστικής Οικονομικής Ζώνης της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας. Η εν λόγω προσέγγιση, τόνισε, βρίσκεται σε πλήρη αντίθεση με τις υποχρεώσεις της Τουρκίας ως υποψήφια για ένταξη χώρα. Είναι, όμως, ενδεικτική της γενικότερης προσέγγισης και συμπεριφοράς της Τουρκίας – τη μη ευθυγράμμισή της με την Κοινή Εξωτερική Πολιτική και Πολιτική Ασφάλειας, η οποία βρίσκεται στο 4%, την αναθεωρητική πολιτική της σε σχέση με την περιοχή της Ανατολικής Μεσογείου και αναμφίβολα τη συνεχιζόμενη παράνομη επεκτατική πολιτική της στην Κύπρο.
