Let’s get a couple of things clear here for the casuals (looking at you @dannykanell @ESPNBooger @BFW and everyone alike); 2026 Penn State football has absolutely nothing to do with Iowa State and these statements are not only incredibly disrespectful to Iowa State University, but also incredibly disrespectful to the 2026 Iowa State football team and the entire Iowa State fanbase as a whole. The only link here are a handful of familiar names, so let’s just take a quick look at Iowa State’s 2 most recent teams, 2024 and 2025. 2024: 11-3 overall record - started the year 7-0, blew the game against Tech and took a 1 point loss. Got a little rattled by a KU team that managed to go on a 3 game Jordan run, and wrapped up the year at 10-2. Had another unprepared Big 12 title game showing, and then got their 11th win by beating a Miami team that would go on to play in the natty the very next year. Did I even mention ISU had TWO 1,000 yard WRs this season with Rocco throwing the rock? 2025: 8-4 overall record - started the year 5-0 until Rocco got headhunted by Cincy and nearly became a vegetable on live TV. Look at the stats, Rocco just wasn’t the same after the hit he took against Cincy, but ISU still managed to limp their way to an 8-4 record. Wins over a handful of ranked teams, a few of those even coming against other P4 conference schools, one of which being the 2025 natty runner-up. The ONLY individuals that are responsible for 2026 Penn State’s performance are the specific individuals and staff on the 2026 team. And last time I checked, that team is Penn State. 2024 Iowa State led by 2024 Rocco Becht would drag this 2026 PSU team up and down the field and hang at least 40 on their heads in the process. And quite frankly, many are starting to wonder if 2026 IOWA STATE is better than 2026 Penn State. Keep Iowa State’s name out of your mouths when assessing the quality of football being played by the 2026 Penn State team, because as it stands right now, the quality of football that’s been played in Ames, IA between 2024-2026 easily clears the current 2026 PSU team. If you think otherwise, you clearly don’t have a single fucking clue as to what you’re talking about.
