13 (Thirteen weeks). The underpass at the station is taking 16 weeks. Countries build entire Olympic Villages in that time. Well, not quite but it's about as accurate a response to one of your FOI requests when we fob you off. #rdguk 🤡🥀
Replacement of Kings Meadow footbridge with a modern structure more than double the width begins on Monday. It will take 13 weeks and a temporary closure of the footway will be in place with a signed diversion across the meadow for pedestrians and cyclists rdguk.info/Kings_Meadow_foot…

For over 10 years campaign groups have been calling on the government to review road traffic offences. With an election coming up, suddenly we are spending precious parliamentary time dealing with "cyclists" ignoring the 99.55% of the problem. 🤷‍♂️ cyclinguk.org/10-years-gover…

Yet, when a Labour councillors does a traffic offence, let off scot-free. One rule for them and another rule for the rest. #rdguk 🤡🥀

@ReadingCouncil Just got a ticket for driving in the bus lane when just trying to turn into a side street. Your incessant road works was blocking entry to the turn lane as it's only 1 metre before the corner. The pic even shows intent. I've had enough of this trash from Labour.

@readingcycle there's a new hazard at green park business park where cars avoid the new speed humps by driving around them into the cycle lanes. Can this be resolved to make the existing cycle route safe for the bikes? No response from @GreenParkUK when I've raised the issue.

"We need more people cycling... but if you don't build infrastructure that's well-lit people aren't going to do it." Well said Kat Heath 👏 @BBCSouthNews @WeAreCyclingUK @ReadingCouncil @livingreading @CllrJennis @KidicalMassRead @criticalmassrdg @CyclingReading @WestBerksSpokes

We totally agree with this! So watch this space for workshops where kids can learn to build their own bike and take it home with them. #rdguk #cycle

This shouldn’t happen! It definitely shouldn’t happen in a climate emergency. @PaulEnnisandCo @paulgittings @JacopoLanzoni any update on what the next steps are on doing something to protect cyclists on this road?
Creating a bike lane requires consultation, budget, time, … because a car driver might get angry. Removing one, however, seems very easy: it just happened. Let’s get angry too.

We think having no ‘boxes’ is more dangerous, but what would the ppl on bikes who use it know? Where’s the data or discussion to back this up? In the meantime anyone got some spare paint we could borrow, before one of us gets hurt or killed by @ReadingCouncil behaviour? 🎨🚧🚴‍♀️
Hello Jane, we have received the following response from the Team: 'I can confirm that following the recent resurfacing works, it was intentional not to reinstate the cycle reservoirs (boxes) and the cycle lane on the north side of Lower Henley Road due to safety concerns.'

We go to the forums, we try to learn and follow the rules to engage with @ReadingCouncil to work together to make #rdguk safer to #cycle. Behaviour like this damages any trust we’ve been establishing. :( and feels like a kick in the teeth @JacopoLanzoni @matthewjyeo @JanGavin91
During resurfacing @ReadingCouncil removed a junction box which has made it dangerous to use a cycle route on Henley Rd. They told no one, and when asked - it’s for HGVs. @JanGavin91 @matthewjyeo as councillors for this ward were you made aware?

Meanwhile in #rdguk they’re removing cycling infrastructure
🏘️Most streets in built-up areas are now 20mph. Signs will show when you enter a road with a different limit. 👷Highway authorities are still working hard to get all signs in place. 🚗But in the meantime, see streetlights, think 20mph. #ReadyFor20mph #BetterAt20mph

Angry @ReadingCouncil is allowed to endanger our lives without any consultation? turn up at the rides. If councillors won’t fight for our safety or averting climate change: let’s fight for ourselves. #criticalmass last Friday of the month 19:30 outside the civic offices
Pretty damming inditement from @ReadingCouncil about how little they value cyclists, clean air and climate change when HGV access is a higher consideration than cyclists on a route they designated for cycling. @rdgchronicle @RdgToday @BBCBerkshire

We put these in on Reading Bridge at great expense to the taxpayer. We can't be trusted to spend public money wisely. #rdguk 🥀🤡
