You know we were worried about the lack of safe cycling for kids @RiverAcReading so it's brilliant to see how much work @bicialmeria and others have put in to keep them safe. Glad the lights helped!

Can bear’ly contain our excitement, something im-paw-tent happened in Broad Street yesterday!
Paddington was installed on the benches outside Waterstones.
Paddingtons creator Michael Bond grew up & attended school in #RDGUK
Pop along for a Peru’se next time you’re in town!
It would be great to see this in Reading. Well done everyone involved.

What do you think? When deaths caused by cars is in over 1.5k in 2023 and e-bikes and e-scooters account for less than 100. Is this really where resource should be focused?
"We see significant concern from residents."
118 e-bikes and e-scooters were seized from the beginning of June to the start of September by Thames Valley Police.
Police and Crime Commissioner @matthew_barber spoke to That's TV about tackling e-scooter and e-bike crimes.

Rode my bike yesterday for the first time post-small operation. Blooming excellent! Can't walk very far at present so this is literally my mobility aid.
We obviously advocate for bike parking, but if you need to drive please be aware of this scam and don't use the false QR codes.
Several on-street parking machines in the town centre have been found with false QR codes attached.
Please do not use these QR codes as they are a scam.
The ways to pay for on-street parking in #rdguk are by:
•Cash
•Phone using RingGo
•Via the RingGo app

"All of this is really, really needed to make changes across the country."
Kat Heath from @KidicalMassRead spoke to That's TV about Reading Cycle Festival, with more than 90 people joining the mass ride as part of the day and riding through the station underpass.
Ignoring the account, this isn’t an uncommon reaction, so I want to explain. We plan our routes to show the need for better infrastructure but also to highlight new routes. That occasionally means for a couple of minutes we’re disruptive. We send marshals ahead, and 🧵

That shared path is ridiculous with all those cycles. Imagine walking down with all those heading towards you. 😂
Surely there should be segregated cycle paths near a major train station by now!?

This bridge was made for people not in cars. We had 90 riders crossing it for a few minutes but great design and able to pass pedestrians. #kidicalmass #safestreets #kidsnotcars
We do! We’ll be having a small action to add our voices to thousands of others across the country.
