Youtube receives millions of uploads a day.
The market has rejected gatekeeping.
What happens next is that Epic and (maybe) Steam will work on solving the discovery problem and introduce discovery algorithms that function like the youtube shorts feed.
Gatekeepers never win.

Now that intelligence is cheap and detached from human effort, being smart, diligent, and thoughtful will command less of a premium, and being attractive, charismatic, and (especially) already rich will matter more. This is not a recipe for a just and virtuous society.

I’m starting to get increasingly uncomfortable with the economics of AI as it is currently happening
It seems fundamentally wrong that a small number of people with access to a huge amounts of VC money can vacuum up all the contributions of humanity, often paying nothing for it, then turn around and get enormously rich while the many people who put all the work into creating the training data get nothing
I am generally pro-AI, but the way it is happening is seeming increasingly parasitic to me

The EU is asking the public what they think about forcing everyone to verify their identity before they can get permission to read, write and share information online, while outlawing online anonymity.
I will provide formal expert feedback, but I’ll lead with one question.
Why do their online child safety campaigns revolve around images of 4 year old children that every parent should already be able to protect?
Children aged 4 or 5 are not creating social media accounts themselves. If they are, they should probably be on a shortlist to work for NASA.
Smartphones already give parents the controls to block apps, block websites, restrict content and set time limits for their own children.
So why does protecting a 4 year old require every adult to prove who they are before they can communicate online?
If people comment, I’ll gather as many responses as I can for a white paper, alongside data from previous posts that generated more than 1 million impressions and heavy engagement.
It’s time we properly documented what people actually think about identity verification, online anonymity and government surveillance under the guise of do-called “child safety”.
If you comment, please keep it respectful and constructive.
What should a safer internet look like for minors?
The Commission is seeking your views on the proposed EU KIDS Act. Share your thoughts and help shape safer digital spaces for children.
Have your say by 26 November 2026!

The commission doesn't seek anyone views as the Chat control proposal has been rejected multiple times in the EU parliament, yet still pushed by unelected bureaucrats
Parents are in charge of their kids, not the state
Detecting minors means everyone needs to provide their IDs

UPDATE: Charles Hoskinson slams the EU, says "why I don't trust you Europeans with your Digital Euro, is we all know what you're gonna do with it—asset and transaction discrimination. Don't believe it? Well then put it in some sort of law that you're not gonna do it."

Ross of @accursedfarms explains how the EU Kids Act is cover for making private servers without age verification illegal, and doing the exact opposite of protecting kids in order to establish a surveillance state. Here's how to fight back:
-Sign and spread the #StopKillingInternet Initiative if you're an EU citizen of voting age (friends and family count too!): eci.ec.europa.eu/066/public/
- Leave a public comment about the EU Kids Act
Be polite and civil. This isn't Twitter or social media, but a direct public comment to the Commission. They're under no obligation to take people seriously if people misbehave or get out of hand. Write like you'll have to give your comment in person to your town hall or local government: ec.europa.eu/info/law/better…
- Read up on the EU Kids Act: eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-cont…
- The leaked proposal of the Kids Act: drive.proton.me/urls/7FGQYQ0…
- Contact your Member of European Parliament about your opposition to the Kids Act, and why they should also be opposed to it: europarl.europa.eu/meps/en/h…
- Spread the word and this video far and wide! Let the public know what is happening!

The end of software secrecy is almost upon us. The death of closed source, and the final triumph of open source.
I should have realized this a few months ago when I successfully decompiled the game of Firefighter from an ancient DOS shareware binary. My robot friend was able to tell it had been written in Borland Pascal from looking at the data layout; it gave me back very readable Pascal code with sensibly chosen function and variable names. I transpiled it to Rust and now ship it as part of my heritage games collection.
The thing is, I thought of this as a fun stunt but didn't have any confidence that the technique would scale up to large, real programs. I have since learned that people are now doing this sort of thing with entire AAA games, which are among the most complex software artifacts ever to be shipped as a binary. If they can be decompiled, anything can be.
This has implications. Massive implications. We need to think about what the world is like when, in general, there is no longer a secrecy moat around almost any software at all.

Much like how we had a feedback campaign for the Digital Fairness Act, there is now a place for you to give feedback on the EU Kids Act: ec.europa.eu/info/law/better…
- Be polite
- Write in your own words and using your own experiences
- Emphasize how video games shouldn't have draconian age verification, private servers without age verification shouldn't be made illegal, etc.

All hands on deck! This is the biggest threat to Stop Killing Games yet!
The EU #KidsAct could end #StopKillingGames by collapsing the EU gaming market and making private and community servers illegal!:

PewDiePie trying to distill Sol and getting banned by OpenAI twice is the perfect side quest lmao…

> OpenAI bans him
> appeals
> gets unbanned
> runs Sol again
> gets banned again
you may as well as have 2 $100 plans.
-you get to avoid 5 hour usage windows
-get the same tok/$ as $200 plans
-get to use your resets more granularly
I’ll explain the new Pro 200 plan differently, before I start live tweeting from DevDay on things that are going out!
Today we are going to ship a number of things that increase what you can do across the Plus and Pro plans. A lot of compute is online for this increase. As we increase the floor, we are changing the relative difference between plans to be
Plus = 1X
Pro 100 = 5X
Pro 200 = 10X
and we are reopening subscriptions for Pro 200 (we had paused it). If you have an existing plan you will keep the 20X multiplier for a bit and also receive a lot of additional credits because we know changes are hard even if it means that everyone will get more in the end.
I have been coding for 20+ years now. Programming basically consumed my life.
I was coding 8 hours during work. Back home I would continue coding on side projects. Same on weekends.
And when I wasnt coding, I would still think and read about coding, projects, things I wanted to improve, problems I was chewing on, new frameworks, libraries etc.
Now with agents, all of that changed.
I still sit at my PC all day long, but instead of coding I chat with an LLM.
And when I am offline, not really thinking about programming anymore.
Random thought I guess, but it feels like a pretty drastic change compared to what my brain was doing all day long for the last 20+ years.

Some data we recently assembled on entrepreneurship/compute in Europe: eudata.vercel.app.
We hope that one of the useful roles that Stripe can play is in collecting and publishing empirical data pertaining to entrepreneurship and industry in Europe. There's growing appetite to get Europe on a better footing, and cross-sectional comparisons can often shine light on where opportunities lie.
