I understand it's easier to attack a weaker claim I didn't actually make, but I'm tired of letting leftists get away with responding "Oh, so you're saying..." and then proceeding to strawman my argument. Using your example, the analogous statement would be "About 1 in 8 ciz male inmates have been convicted of murder". This is intuitive — we all know murders happen, we all know that the vast majority of people are not murderers, and we all know that most people convicted of violent crimes including murder are male. You injected the "ciz" qualifier, but assuming your number tracks actual data it's guaranteed to be about 1 in 8, because adding "ciz" exempts a relatively tiny population of men who claim special genderfeelies. (Ironically, you probably cited numbers that don't explicitly account for that exemption but whatever.) The majority of troons [probably] will not become felony sex offenders. "Risk assessment" means asking, "Given the opportunity to commit a heinous crime, what crime is this candidate likely to commit?" The game show wheel example in the QT should help, but to put it another way: If I'm hiring male convicted felons for a job, one in eight is statistically a murderer. If I'm hiring male convicted felons who self-identified as "transgender women" at the time, then every other one is statistically a sex offender. I was very clear about the fact that I wasn't making a generalization about the entire (uncountable) population of men calling themselves "transgender women". But if you're e.g. recruiting workers for a daycare — or otherwise inviting people into spaces where crimes of opportunity are likely — it would be foolish to include "transgender women" in your applicant pool at all, because there is an exceptionally high risk they will commit sex offenses, relative to the rest of the population.
