Hi - Karen’s rights are human rights. Othering older women is as old fashioned as mother in law jokes and witch burning. What’s great is you will get older and when you do I hope your wisdom kicks in. Stop being anti women. Start being a sister

Part of the new @HMRCgovuk guidance: "Supporting trans and non-binary colleagues." It's despicable & ridiculous that our Civil Service is taking such arrant nonsense seriously. If we can't back out of this, the Protected Characteristic of Gender Reassignment must be removed from the Equality Act.

Not only did the girls have to compete against the less than mediocre boy, the school district made one unlucky girl share overnight accommodations with him. They were stripped of their consent. This is criminal.
NEW: The biological boy on the Camas High School cross-country team was assigned to a room with a girl. According to Clark County Today, during the trip to Arlington, the team members were lodged in a hotel at the expense of the Camas SD, and the biological male shared a hotel room with a girl member of the Camas team. At least one member of the team quit after the events of the weekend, and others have left the team throughout the course of the season.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The Clark County Today report cited here has been corrected: the biological male stayed in a hotel room with a family member, not a girl on the Camas team. The outlet regrets the error in the original report. clarkcountytoday.com/story/update-i… clarkcountytoday.com/story/issues-c…

Two women on death row in Iran have recorded audio messages from their prison cells and asked the free world to save their lives. Now I bring their voices to you. Najmeh Amini is 23. An accounting student. Her crime? A post on social media. The regime calls it insulting the prophet. For one post, they will hang her. Mahboubeh Shabani is 33. During the protests, she carried wounded demonstrators to the hospital. Her crime? Saving lives. The regime calls it waging war against God. For saving lives, they will hang her. Let me be honest. Hashtags and tweets alone will not stop these executions. This regime only understands pressure. So I call on American, European, and world leaders: make these executions your red line. Tie every sanction, every deal, every negotiation to the lives of political prisoners. Demand their release now. Impose real costs for every hanging. Najmeh Amini and Mahboubeh Shabani must not die for the crime of freedom. Act now. Before it is too late.

Six months ago, the Taliban legalized sexual slavery and permanently banned girls from schools. Why are all the human rights activists silent?

The Islamic Republic has figured out how to murder its own people without making headlines: hang them one or two at a time. Over 2,000 executions in 12 months. And the world STILL rolls out the red carpet for Tehran’s diplomats. This is complicity. My latest: fromfrontline.com/p/death-by…

🚨INCREDIBLE: Tumwater High School girls track team stood on the podium at the Washington state championships in Tacoma wearing shirts that read “Keep Women’s Sports Female.” The moment came after a transgender athlete from East Valley High School in Spokane, Veronica Garcia, competed in multiple girls’ events and won a state title. Tumwater’s girls had beaten Garcia’s relay team in a prelim before finishing outside the top spots in the final. Tumwater’s school board had earlier passed a resolution seeking to limit girls’ events to biological females after the district faced a federal investigation over a game involving a transgender athlete. The shirts drew immediate attention, with some calling them a protest for fairness and others labeling them anti-trans. The girls wore the message on the medal stand. This is incredible bravery!👏🏾

The thing that never happens.
🚨UNBELIEVABLE: A trans killer in Sweden who murdered his children has now legally changed his gender and name. He has been transferred to a women's prison. Paulus Abdel Shahed, now known as "Lily," was sentenced to life in prison after m—rdering two children, aged seven and eight, in 2024. Inmates at the institution have raised the alarm that Abdel Shahed, a migrant from Egypt, has been terrorizing women by walking around with a beard and exposing his penis. Reports were made that he had groped inmates, entered the shower area with other women, and even had sexual relations with one. A female inmate who made a complaint was called "transphobic" and punished with a misbehavior warning, Swedish media reports. David J Harris credit

I didn’t really get the problem with gender ideology at first. I’m liberal-minded about most things. ‘Live and let live’ has generally been my motto. I believed in inclusion, kindness and not causing unnecessary offence. I knew some adults chose medical treatments or surgery to resemble the opposite sex. That seemed to me a matter of personal autonomy. Adults can do what they wish with their own bodies. What I hadn’t realised — and I feel slightly embarrassed admitting this — was that I’d misunderstood what was being claimed. I thought “transgender” meant a form of self-expression. A man who liked wearing women’s clothes. Someone changing their name. Gender non-conformity. What I hadn’t grasped was that some activists weren’t just asking for tolerance. They were asserting that declaring yourself the opposite sex made you the opposite sex. Not metaphorically. Literally. And that this wasn’t just cultural. It had legal consequences. It meant men who said they were women were demanding access to women’s sports, prisons, domestic violence shelters and hospital wards. It meant the rewriting of healthcare language — “pregnant people”, “bodies with cervixes” — to avoid saying “women”. It meant children struggling with identity being affirmed onto medical pathways with lifelong implications. And also redefining same-sex attraction. Lesbians called ‘bigoted’ for not wanting relationships with men who identify as women. Gay men accused of prejudice for saying they’re not attracted to female bodies. I’d also overlooked how deeply this had spread into public institutions, schools and workplaces. And how easily disagreement was framed as cruelty. Speaking up felt risky — because others were being publicly humiliated for doing so. None of this is abstract. Because sex is the basis on which safeguarding works. On which data is collected. On which cancer screening programmes run. On which fair sport and single-sex spaces depend. It’s written into law — including the Equality Act — because material differences matter. If sex becomes a ‘feeling’ rather than a biological category, those protections become unstable. And once reality becomes negotiable, everything does. Once I saw it, I couldn’t unsee it. But I needed to be sure. So I read. Books, research papers, policy documents. When I finally spoke publicly, there was backlash from all directions. Many women thanked me, while some feminists criticised me for speaking too late. Others were angry about a past interview I’d done with the parent of a transgender person, accusing me of promoting harm. It takes courage to speak when you know your reputation, friendships or livelihood may be on the line — when you know raising your voice could strain, or even end, relationships you value. Once I understood what was at stake, staying silent was no longer an option. I lost my livelihood simply for saying I didn’t like the phrase “pregnant people”. That alone tells you something is deeply wrong. It shouldn’t be this way. I don’t expect praise for admitting it took me far too long to understand what was happening. Or to say so publicly. I can only be honest about what I believed then and what I understand now. But it does take courage to admit publicly that you got something wrong. All I hope is that by acknowledging I wasn’t paying enough attention, another woman (or man) might feel emboldened to do the same. Because, as many of us know first-hand, there can be professional, social and financial consequences to speaking out. And I won’t pretend I understood something before I did, simply to make myself more acceptable to those who got there sooner. Which is why I will never judge another woman for how long it takes her to find her voice. Because every voice matters. Whenever it is raised.

Iranian rapper and pop star Amir Hossein Maghsoudloo, better known as Amir Tataloo, faces execution after being sentenced to death for sabb al-nabi, insulting the Prophet Muhammad. Tataloo was initially sentenced to 5 years in prison over the case, but the Islamic regime’s Supreme Court overturned that ruling and sent it to another Tehran court, which sentenced him to death. The Supreme Court subsequently upheld the death sentence, with Iran’s judiciary saying the ruling was final and ready for enforcement. Tataloo is already serving a separate 10-year prison sentence for charges including “encouraging corruption and prostitution” and propaganda against the Islamic Republic. The 38-year-old singer had lived in Istanbul for several years before Turkish authorities handed him over to Iran in December 2023, where he was immediately detained.

It is sickening that the USA is now lifting sanctions on Russian fuel, and transparently ridiculous to blame Ukraine for the spike in prices that obviously began with the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Putin is murdering innocent Ukrainian civilians every day. The Ukrainians are fighting for their lives. And yet the White House is apparently determined to force American drivers to bankroll Putin’s slaughter. It won’t work and I doubt it will make much difference to the price of fuel. If we want Russian oil and gas back on the world market then let’s end this war - with a free, sovereign and independent Ukraine.
