ALT We can observe four photos taken at our AGM on Thursday 8 October 2026. This was World Sight Day with a central theme of "Every Story Counts" and underpinned by the reminder #LoveYourEyes. The first photo depicts Nicola Newman (CEO) delivering her welcome speech to kick off the AGM. Then we enjoy photos of Jennifer Smith, our superb Guest Speaker, and performances by the Seated Ballet Group and Creative Writing Group.

ALT We see two photographs of Croydon Pride 2026, a community festival that took place yesterday (Saturday 15 August 2026). On the left, we see a visual image of Croydon Mayor Jason Perry and other festival participants walking in the shopping district of Croydon Town Centre while displaying a multicoloured Croydon Pride banner. On the right, we enjoy an image of our volunteer and member Paul, and member Mo, both enjoying the festival. Paul is wearing a lovely and colourful hat in celebration of this special day!

ALT We enjoy two vibrant and colourful photographs of one of our exciting and empowering cooking classes which are part of our Creative Health Programme kindly funded by Croydon Loves You at Croydon Council. The photos depict Shalini (Outreach and Cookery Lead) with Malou (lovely Volunteer) and one of our members who is learning to prepare vegetables in a safe VI-friendly manner as part of his cooking journey. We are grateful to Croydon Council for their support with this brilliant, person-centred, health-focused, and important work.

ALT We can see three photographs of today's Vision Zone 2026 exhibition at our community centre (Bedford Hall). The Vision Zone 2026 event was advertised as follows: "Would you like to find out more about assistive technology, Support, Services, Groups, and much more? Our Vision Zone events bring together a variety of excellent services and charities covering your local area. No matter what your sight loss condition we are here for you. Whether it’s just to gain knowledge or hands on experience of new technologies, entry is free to our events, and our friendly staff will greet you with a warm welcome."

ALT We see a photograph of Carers Café in Croydon. Jason Perry, Croydon Mayor, spent time with carers in March 2026, listening to their experiences and seeing first-hand how they are supported by Carers First across the borough. Carers First were delighted to hear positive feedback, with carers sharing how much the support means to them and the difference it makes to their wellbeing.

ALT We see a poster displaying the theme of Carers Week 2026 which takes place between today (Monday 8 June) and Sunday 14 June. The theme is "Building carer friendly communities". We see a drawing of various buildings presented in lively colours under the logo of Carers Week and the theme as stated earlier (i.e., presented as a headline).
