Lol I wonder who that person that asked in there was... hmm... Also that person that asked me for 5% cut from my commissions also declined me paying them the $2 from the commission they were upset about. I asked them about it a few years later to see if they still want the agreement to stay, they said yep. ... So what happened was anytime someone asked me for a commission and it included this persons mods, I informed them of the arrangement with that modder. They then deleted all the mods they use from that creator and told their friends to also not support that. ... I offered to give that creator a shoutout on the post and say what they made on it, which would have given them a positive appearance and would most likely get them way more than $2 just from that post or any that followed...... but instead this is what we get lol and thats fine. I also understand the whole "Don't pay with exposure" but....... that behavior caused them to lose a portion of their user base. I never claim that I am making anything in my animations from scratch-- EXCEPT the animation motions directly and any additional random assets that I use because sometimes a T Shirt in MD simulated is just way better than some random mod that is rigged. The main issue I have with that mentality is there is no way for them to police their product as they're uploading it to a free download site most of the time. So even if I agreed to their royalties demand, it would just be a negative for me only cuz I sure as hell know the other animators arent going to bother asking. The best thing would have been me being able to give some sort of support to the mod makers directly-- but also I don't know anymore where a mod comes from or who makes them cuz I don't deal directly with mod files anymore lol. I just get sent a exported GLTF of a character that doesn't say anywhere who made it, how to reach them or if its paywalled, private, open or... what... so... *stares* sorry for long post lol.
