VIDEO | Garvi Gurjari, an initiative of the Gujarat State Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation, continues to champion the legacy of traditional artisanship. In 2024–25, the initiative recorded an all-time high in sales, reaching ₹32.09 crore —its second consecutive year of historic performance, reflecting the strong support and vision of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.
This remarkable growth reflects the rising demand for Gujarat’s rich crafts—from intricate beadwork and hand embroidery to vibrant woven fabrics and tribal art. With over 8,000 artisans empowered across the state, Garvi Gurjari not only preserves cultural heritage but also fuels sustainable livelihoods.

ગ્રામીણ અર્થતંત્રને વેગવંતુ બનાવવામાં કુટિર અને ગ્રામોદ્યોગની ખૂબ મોટી ભૂમિકા છે. આ ઉદ્યોગોને વેગ આપવા અને આ ક્ષેત્રના કારીગરો માટે રોજગારીના ઉત્તમ અવસરોનું સર્જન કરવાના ઉદ્દેશ્ય સાથે ગુજરાત સરકારે કુટિર અને ગ્રામોદ્યોગ નીતિ-2024 લોન્ચ કરી છે.
આ નીતિ અંતર્ગત, કુટિર ઉદ્યોગની સમગ્ર ઈકોસીસ્ટમને મજબૂત બનાવવામાં આવશે અને લુપ્ત થતી હસ્તકળાઓને પુનર્જીવિત કરવામાં આવશે. કુટિર ઉદ્યોગ ક્ષેત્રે કારીગરોને વધુ ધિરાણ, માર્કેટ લિંકેજ, ‘વન ડિસ્ટ્રીક્ટ – વન પ્રોડક્ટ’ યોજના, માળખાકીય સુવિધાઓ અને કૌશલ્ય તાલીમ જેવા તમામ પાસાઓ ઉપર આ પોલિસીમાં વિશેષ પ્રાવધાન કરવામાં આવ્યું છે.
માનનીય વડાપ્રધાન શ્રી @narendramodi જી ના માર્ગદર્શનમાં છેલ્લાં અઢી દાયકામાં ગુજરાતે એક પોલિસી-ડ્રીવન સ્ટેટ તરીકે દેશમાં એક આગવી ઓળખ ઉભી કરી છે. કુટિર અને ગ્રામોદ્યોગ માટેની આ નવી નીતિ ગ્રામીણ ક્ષેત્રોમાં લાખો નવા રોજગાર સાથે ગ્રામ્ય વિસ્તારોમાં વિકાસની નવી ઊર્જા ભરવામાં મહત્ત્વની સાબિત થશે.

ગુજરાતના ભવ્ય અને ભાતીગળ હસ્તકલા વારસાને જીવંત રાખનાર હસ્તકલાની શ્રેષ્ઠ કૃતિઓનું સર્જન કરનાર ૧૧ કારીગરોને ડબલ ઇક્કત પટોળા સાડી, એમ્બ્રોડરી અને જરી જરદોશી, એપ્લીક વર્ક, વુડન વર્ક, મોતીકામ, કમલકારી, ટાઈ એન્ડ ડાય, ખરલ અને મશરૂ જેવી ક્રાફ્ટમાં એવોર્ડ આપી સન્માનીત કરવામાં આવ્યા.
નવીન કુટીર નીતિ ૨૦૨૪નું વિઝન સ્થાનિક અને આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય બજારમાં ઉન્નત બજાર હિસ્સા સાથે રાજ્યમાં એક ગતિશીલ અને આત્મનિર્ભર કુટીર ઉદ્યોગ ક્ષેત્રનું નિર્માણ કરવાનું છે. તેમજ રાજ્યની લુપ્ત થતી હસ્તકલાઓને જાળવી રાખવાનું છે.
સક્ષમ અને અનુકૂળ વાતાવરણ દ્વારા ગુજરાતના હસ્તકલા, ખાદી અને હાથશાળના સાંસ્કૃતિક વારસાને પ્રોત્સાહન મળે અને તેની જાળવણી થાય અને ઉપરાંત ધિરાણ સહાય, માર્કેટ સહાય, ઈન્ફ્રાસ્ટ્રક્ચર સુવિધાઓનો વિકાસ, કૌશલ્ય વિકાસ, ટેક્નોલોજી અપગ્રેડેશન અને ઈનોવેશનની ઉપલબ્ધતા દ્વારા આ ક્ષેત્રમાં તકો વધારવી એ આ નીતિનું મિશન છે.

નવીન કુટીર નીતિ ૨૦૨૪નું વિઝન સ્થાનિક અને આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય બજારમાં ઉન્નત બજાર હિસ્સા સાથે રાજ્યમાં એક ગતિશીલ અને આત્મનિર્ભર કુટીર ઉદ્યોગ ક્ષેત્રનું નિર્માણ કરવાનું તેમજ રાજ્યની લુપ્ત થતી હસ્તકલાઓને જાળવી રાખવાનું છે.
