Are we one of the only sectors where closed still meant working overtime - except this time we didn’t get paid. @RishiSunak @PutneyFleur @scullyp #whataboutweddings

I will leave this here. The events industry. Worth £84bn a year. All of it opening in May except weddings. Despite being the 3rd largest sector. Worth £5bn more than live sporting events. £8bn more than football. 👀🤷‍♀️ #whataboutweddings @Siobhan_Baillie @scullyp – at Cheltenham, England

THREAD. While allowing wedding ceremonies alone to go ahead would be a welcome relief to some couples & return their legal human right to marriage, it will result in businesses staying closed. This must be considered. It is precisely why we need a roadmap, with dates. 1/17

Thank you, David. Please urge your colleague, @MarcusFysh, to support this too. #whataboutweddings

2020 has been a challenging year for us all. We’ve been closed for most of it, and must close our doors once again on Boxing Day when Somerset enters tier three.
