In my 20s, I lifted for aesthetics. At 39, I lift for quality of life.
Today’s squats and lunges are an investment in staying strong, moving well, and hopefully remaining independent as I age.
That’s what the gym means to me now.

And yes, I’ve worked on wildcardsradio.com today. I’m always on the hustle to try and make Wildcards Radio a household name. Or at least a name that they recognize at your local glory hole 🤣

People want a pharmaceutical solution to a lifestyle problem. Imagine needing a drug because saying “no” to food became too difficult.

Imagine a documentary crew followed you around for the last 30 days. 24/7. They don’t know the thoughts in your head or your future dreams…they just see who you are NOW…and how you conduct yourself in the world.
At the end of the 30 days they give an objective, raw audit for who you are now…at least, how the outside world sees you.
This is the Documentary Test…it’s how I stop bs’ing myself (and my clients) and highlight what behaviors I need to add or subtract from my life to become the optimal version of myself.
Try it and report back 👇

something ive learned over the past few years is -
so much energy is wasted on fighting bills, checking prices, running cost analysis, etc.
when you can just use that same energy to make more money or improving yourself
if you wanna decelerate aging, only have good stress

nobody does what they say they do
im about to lose 20 pounds in like 2 weeks
(ive always lost 30-40 lbs within 12 weeks after bulks anyway - this time is different)
- fast 16-24 hours everyday
- caloric deficit
- run
that’s it, it’s not hard, you’re just not trying at all

Your breathing pattern is a quiet mirror.
It shows how you handle stress, how open or guarded you feel, how much space you give yourself to rest.

Your non-physical soul enters into your body so that it can have this physical experience.
The body is an intelligent and sentient machine.
It sees the soul as either a parasite or a liberator.
Depends on whether you consciously create harmony or disassociation.
If you constantly poison the body with shit food, negative thoughts and harmful behavior…the body will try to evict the soul.
If you treat the body with love, and create a harmonious, positive environment and relationship…the body will accept and admire the soul.
Be nice to yourself :)

If you're having a hard time falling asleep, just extend your exhale - through your nose.
Don't push it out like an action, that'll wake you up.
Just let it go, relax the body, and let it release for longer.
Then ease in an easy breath, and repeat.

Practice. Preferably with focus and intention. The 100th time you play a song (or do anything, really) is going to be better than the 10th time.
Example: Olde Timey Secretary ends every typewritten correspondence with "Thank you. Have a nice day." First few times, each letter takes a second or two, but after a couple dozen memos, it takes a second or two for the entire closing.
Music -- and most anything worth doing -- is more. You're not trying to just get to the end. You are delivering a message/emotion/story and practice builds the passage and transport for it.
So practice. (notetoself)

Your brain is not the creator of consciousness…it’s a filter of reality
Jordan @digijordan reflects on an idea first proposed by Aldous Huxley…that the brain doesn’t generate consciousness, but filters it. From this perspective, reality is far richer than what we normally perceive, and our nervous system simply narrows it down to what we can handle.
Jordan compares it to upgrading hardware: as perception expands, more of what’s already there becomes visible. In his view, shifts in awareness may feel new, but they’re less about imagination and more about access …a gradual widening of what we’re able to experience.

Do not underestimate the power of clearing your living space a bit.
Doing "mundane" things like laundry.
Going for a walk.
Taking a big breath.

An unspoken difficulty associated with fatherhood:
You're a bear chasing a small wizard, and she freezes you, and you're stuck there like a statue. Lil wiz proceeds to laugh at you, and you need to scratch your nose, but you can't move cuz you're frozen. She then gets distracted swinging, and your nose still itches , and you think she's ignoring you. You hear, "UNFREEZE!" You scratch and shake yourself out. Hard head turn to lil wiz. Stare at her. Ramp up to engage, only to be frozen again in a slightly more uncomfortable position. Here we go again. It's rough out here.
The only way to lose is not to play.
Merry Xmas internet friends.
