I joined Twitter 14 years ago. I was initially drawn to the platform and stayed for the sense of community. However, today I believe this platform provides no real value and is, in fact, a detriment to public well-being. It is systematically eroding our bonds of community at every turn. Therefore, I will no longer be posting any comments or updates here. You can find me on LinkedIn, and I hope to continue connecting with you there. Love you all, Cormac & @NurtureDev

I hadn’t realised John McKnight died last month. His work with Jody Kretzmann and @CormacRussell on Asset-Based Community Development was and is influential on me, building on my Clinical Psychology work and moving into local politics. Thank you John. theguardian.com/society/2024…
Happy Christmas, John. The journalist who wrote this obituary is @DavidJ_Brindle - he did a wonderful job paying tribute to John. I will be sharing my obituary and oral eulogy shortly after Christmas. Warm wishes, Cormac

My book 'Creating Community Health' looks beyond #socialPrescribing to #communityDevelopment, producing health rather than healthcare, with a wonderful foreword by @CormacRussell.

There is a deeply insightful point at 39:00 into the video on the isolation of both young and older people in Singapore that I consider to be the same in high-stakes rural communities in South Africa. @5thfactor @SvenIsaksson

.@dinilani - something we should seriously explore in our health-burden communities in South Africa.
