RE: A PERSONAL UPDATE
Good afternoon, everyone,
I wanted to take a moment to share a personal update with the many friends, colleagues, and associates I've had the pleasure of knowing and working alongside over the years.
A couple of months ago, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Since then, I've undergone extensive testing, examinations, and consultations with my medical team. The good news is that my doctors now have a very clear understanding of my condition, and their outlook is extremely positive. They believe my cancer is highly treatable, with an excellent likelihood of a successful treatment and cure.
I consider myself very fortunate that we've identified the situation, have a clear treatment plan, and have every reason to be optimistic about the outcome.
I've already been taking medication for approximately a month and will begin the next phase of treatment in the coming weeks. That process is expected to continue over the next few months, and I'm looking forward to putting this chapter behind me.
I deliberately waited to share this news more broadly until my doctors had completed their evaluations and we had a clear understanding of the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment plan. My family and those closest to me have been aware, but I felt it was important to have the full picture before sharing this with the many friends and colleagues I've come to know over the years.
I share this news not to cause concern or invite sympathy, but simply because I've always believed in being open and straightforward with the people in my life.
Those who know me know that I've always approached life's challenges with determination, a positive attitude, and a strong faith in God. This situation is no different. As a lifelong Catholic, my faith has always been a central part of my life, and it continues to provide me with tremendous strength, comfort, and perspective.
As for my day-to-day activities, I fully intend to remain engaged in my business, professional responsibilities, and the many things I enjoy doing. There may be an occasional adjustment to my schedule as treatments progress, but otherwise, it's business as usual.
And please, there's certainly no need to worry about me or treat me any differently. I have an excellent medical team, a wonderful family, tremendous support, and a very positive outlook.
Quite frankly, I look at this as simply another one of life's challenges that needs to be addressed. We have a plan, we're executing that plan, and I fully expect to come through this stronger and healthier than ever.
I certainly appreciate everyone's friendship and support, and for those inclined to do so, I would always welcome a prayer or two. You can never have too many of those!
Please don't feel obligated to call, write, or respond. I simply wanted to share this update personally, reassure everyone that I'm doing well, and then get back to the business of living life!
In closing, I have a lot of living, working, laughing, and enjoying life still ahead of me, and I have absolutely no intention of slowing down any more than necessary!
Thank you all, and God bless.

Jim Durkin helped Democrats get a supermajority. He’s been their gift that keeps on giving for years.
I don’t want his endorsement.
I’d just like to know what Pritzker promised him in return.

Yesterday, I talked with @ChuckGoudieNBC about the level of violence this summer in New York City as compared to Chicago.
Keeping in mind that NYC has approximately three times the population of Chicago as well as three times the complement of sworn police officers, let's take a quick look at the Murder and Shooting numbers for this summer comparing New York and Chicago.
NYC CHICAGO
Shooting Incidents: 195 433
Shooting Victims: 249 582
Murders: 66 119
People in Chicago need to be concerned. And these tragic numbers need to be addressed by those running for re-election this November, and even more so by those who are running for election for Mayor and Alderman in February.
For those in Chicago - now is the time to make your voices heard. And reinforce your message with your votes in November and February.

🚨 FUN FACT: ALEXI “BROADWAY BANK” GIANNOULIAS — PART 2
Before Alexi Giannoulias was running to become MAYOR OF CHICAGO, he was vice president and senior loan officer at his family’s Broadway Bank.
And here’s another story from those years.
💰 ABOUT $20 MILLION IN NEW LOANS.
Beginning in 2004, Broadway Bank made approximately $20 MILLION in new loans over 14 months to Michael “Jaws” Giorango and Demitri Stavropoulos while Alexi was a senior loan officer.
WHO WERE THEY?
🔴 Giorango had a federal bookmaking conviction and later served time for promoting a nationwide prostitution operation.
🔴 Stavropoulos was convicted of running a multistate bookmaking operation and began serving a two-year federal prison sentence in 2005.
Yet Broadway Bank financed real-estate deals involving the pair from CHICAGO to FLORIDA, CALIFORNIA and SOUTH CAROLINA.
And Alexi wasn’t completely removed from the business.
He later acknowledged traveling to MIAMI to inspect property Broadway financed for Giorango and meeting him there.
Years later, Broadway Bank filed foreclosure lawsuits seeking approximately $12.9 MILLION in defaulted loans from the pair.
But Alexi WAS the bank’s senior loan officer while millions in new loans were being made.
In fact, this became such a controversy in 2006 that Democratic leaders — including then-U.S. Senators Barack Obama and Dick Durbin — publicly pressed Giannoulias to provide more answers about the loans.
And now, 20 years later?
ALEXI GIANNOULIAS IS RUNNING FOR MAYOR OF CHICAGO.
Chicago voters might want to learn a little more about the BROADWAY BANK YEARS. 👀

🚨 FUN FACT: ALEXI “BROADWAY BANK” GIANNOULIAS — PART 3
We told you about the $20 MILLION in Broadway Bank loans involving two convicted felons.
But there was ANOTHER set of borrowers.
LEV AND BORIS “HALF DOLLAR” STRATIEVSKY.
Companies controlled by the father and son received more than $20 MILLION in Broadway Bank mortgage loans between 2001 and 2005.
And this time, Alexi’s connection gets closer.
According to reporting on the loans, GIANNOULIAS SIGNED OFF ON MILLIONS IN LOANS TO THE STRATIEVSKYS.
Alexi also served on Broadway Bank’s LOAN COMMITTEE from August 2002 through April 2004 — the committee responsible for deciding whether mortgage loans were approved.
Then came the criminal case.
Boris and Lev were arrested in 2005 on federal money-laundering and forgery charges.
Boris later PLEADED GUILTY to federal money laundering in 2008.
⚠️ Important context: Neither man had a criminal record when Broadway made the loans, and the criminal charges came afterward.
But here’s the record:
💰 $20+ MILLION IN LOANS
🏦 ALEXI WAS VP & SENIOR LOAN OFFICER
📋 ALEXI SERVED ON THE LOAN COMMITTEE
✍️ REPORTING SAYS HE SIGNED OFF ON MILLIONS
Then one of the borrowers later pleaded guilty to FEDERAL MONEY LAUNDERING.
And today?
ALEXI GIANNOULIAS IS A 2027 CANDIDATE FOR MAYOR OF CHICAGO.
The Broadway Bank files just keep getting more interesting. 👀

Lt. Governor Stratton and I couldn't see this more differently.
JB Pritzker and Lt. Governor Stratton want MORE government involvement in business. And the more control government has, the more power politicians have to pick the winners and losers.
I want ALL Illinois businesses to have a better shot. Less government = More opportunity. It really doesn't need to be more complicated than that

Stratton has been campaigning for the U.S. Senate for 496 days and she has yet to articulate a single policy position.
Her entire campaign revolves around yowling trite slogans and President Trump's name.
The absence of firm policy positions is the primary reason Stratton has skipped debates with @DonTracyForIL.
