First comes the outrage. Then comes a determination of what happened and whether the shooting was justified to see if we can sustain the outrage or otherwise move on to the next opportunity to dissemble and demagogue.
Tonight, I spoke with President Trump and DHS Secretary Mullin about the shooting in Marble Hill.
I expressed outrage on behalf of New Yorkers and urged them to halt ICE enforcement operations in New York.
I also asked that any body camera footage of the shooting be released to the public so we can establish the facts and get to the truth.

A former House Minority Leader failed to unite his caucus, lost a bunch of seats in the House, quit his post and then quit on his District before fading into the woodwork, doing no work to cure the party of whatever "ills" he thinks exist.
His thoughts on the Governor's race are about as relevant as whatever rooting preference Pedro Grifol has in tomorrow's White Sox game.

What a joke of a press release! How will a governing body consisting of mostly Chicagoans meet an obligation to fairly provide transit across the region? How will Ambasadors asking nicely prevent crime on the CTA? (Answer: it won’t. Instead we’ll get more cash flowing to the city and poorer maintenance on roads.)

🚩Harry Benton: Backed him despite sexual misconduct allegations to avoid losing union support.
🚩 Toll hikes: Added $1 billion in Tollway construction to win labor backing.
🚩 Invest in Kids: Blocked a vote and delivered teachers unions a major victory.
🚩 Tax hikes: Families pay more while union-backed spending keeps growing.
It’s hard to tell whether he’s using unions as a convenient scapegoat for scummy votes or simply doing their bidding to screw over Illinois taxpayers and the state.
