With support from the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (@FIRSTdotOrg), @UgCERT is hosting the 7th Operator Cybersecurity Technical Training and 6th Cybersecurity Drill at UCC House.
Theme: “Cyber Quest: Learn, Prepare, Protect.”
The engagement brings together communications-sector operators for technical training and practical cyberattack simulations to build the ability to identify, manage, and respond to cybersecurity incidents, while testing existing incident-response procedures and strengthening coordination across the sector.

Speaking at the opening of the Operator Cybersecurity Technical Training and Drill 2026, UCC Director of ICT and Research Eng. Christine Mugimba (@CMugimba), representing @UCC_ED, highlighted the need to continuously invest in people, processes, and technologies to strengthen the protection of critical communications infrastructure and the services that citizens and the economy depend on.
The programme also includes discussions on AI and its application in cybersecurity, reflecting the need for professionals to continuously develop their skills and adapt to emerging technologies and threats.
