The horn is only the visible part of a much larger crime.
Rhino trafficking is a global criminal network involving intermediaries, financiers and buyers.
The DRC may not have rhinos, but its geography makes it vulnerable to trafficking routes.
@Amini16 @rhinorecfund @IccnRdc
The forests around Kisangani are under increasing pressure from charcoal production, unsustainable agriculture, and limited livelihood opportunities.
Saving the Congo Basin cannot mean choosing forests over people. Let us empower communities!
@Amini16
A few months after launching GREENetwork in Loile, Tshuapa Province, communities are already harvesting the fruits of their efforts.
This is what conservation looks like when people are placed at the center.
Communities are not just beneficiaries - they are partners, actors
On 26 Aug 2026, an operation in Kolwezi, DRC resulted in the seizure of 60 kg of ivory and the detention of 2 suspects.
The investigation now continues to identify the source, transport network, facilitators and intended buyers.
A seizure is only the beginning.

Honored to be selected as an Ashoka Fellow.
This strengthens my commitment to building solutions from the Congo that connect conservation, environmental justice, community empowerment and systemic change.
Grateful to @Ashoka and everyone who has walked this journey with us.
A viral video brought us to Djolu, where a wild bonobo named Likonda had moved close to a village. With authorities, local leaders & communities, we assessed the situation and explored solutions for coexistence.
🎥 Full Djolu mission video coming soon. @Amini16

Today, we honour the brave rangers protecting the DRC's natural heritage.
From ICCN rangers to community rangers in Sankuru, Tshuapa , Tshopo, and Équateur, they risk their lives every day to protect wildlife, forests and future generations.
Nature needs rangers. @Amini16
5years ago, seeing a bonobo in this part of Tshuapa was rare. Today, communities report at least 9 bonobo groupsliving near villages. This is a remarkable conservation success-but it also brings a new challenge: human-bonobo coexistence. Recovery deserves support, not complacency
Three suspected wildlife traffickers were arrested in Lubumbashi, and a fresh lion skin was seized during a joint operation involving Conserv Congo, @IccnRdc and state authorities. Investigations continue.

During a recent patrol in Lomako–Iyondji, @ConservC secured the release of a rare Congo Peafowl trapped in a snare.
Found nowhere else on Earth, this species is a symbol of the DRC’s extraordinary biodiversity. Protecting wildlife means protecting our natural heritage & community
