Curbs represent the twilight of skateboarding, the end being closer than the beginning. I wanted to write a story about that and ended up excavating something else, a loss whose unfairness I have been struggling to figure out. Here it is: nytimes.com/2026/05/24/b...
Been warring with this for a few weeks but it's slowly coming together. Would like faster, smoother, longer, but at 48 I'll take what I can get.
Yo #SkateTwitter who knows anything about the Phoenix curb scene? I've skated the parks and will skate them again the next few days, but I need to get my slappy fix in along the way.
I don't watch Reality TV, but life takes weird turns. My story: nytimes.com/2025/10/01/busin…
Dear #SkateTwitter: Years ago Mike Carroll ollied this massive double hubba at UCLA. It's one of those "way gnarlier in person" spots. I know there was an ad with a still shot and footage of it in some video, probably a Transworld thing, but cannot find. Anyone know it?
Dilemma. My son wants to be Spider-Man for Halloween, and for me to be Miles Morales with him. How cancellable is this? I mean, it's just a costume.
I just want to know how they found a spot at 16th & Mission.
J.D. Vance said S.F. car break-in sparked his 'I hate police' comment. But burglary happened later sfchronicle.com/crime/articl… via @sfchronicle
Not sure how many #SkateTwitter peeps would agree, but Risk It! is low key of the better skate videos I've seen. It's got everything! Ocean and Marcus. Danny Way Nine bail. Butch Sterbins skating alleys. The best Colby Carter part ever.
Hate all you want but I just did a trip to Phoenix and Waymoed the whole time and it was goddamn glorious.

What are the true origins of the current US housing crisis?
About 3M homes that were NOT built because of what the 2008 Financial Crisis did to the home building industry. We never caught up -- or even came close. It's the pre-existing condition behind our current crisis of not enough housing and, as a result, shockingly high prices across the entire country.
A real eye-opener of an economic explainer from @ConorDougherty on Today's Daily:

Had a great time talking to Mike Barb. The housing crisis in cheaper midwest cities looks so much different – and in many ways, so much worse – than the coastal crisis. I was so floored.
Why do we have a nationwide housing shortage, how long will it take to fix it and how the hell do we do we get the job done? NYT Business reporter and author of Golden Gates (best book in the housing crisis) @ConorDougherty breaks it all down podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…

Neil was the best of us, and I say that with no hyperbole. He collected love and joy wherever he went. His was a life well led and I will miss him tremendously. Read "American Ramble" and raise a glass. amazon.com/American-Ramble-W…

I feel like all claims that this or that president had a good/bad economy should be subject to a fact check that presidents have basically no control over the economy.

RIP to a legend and friend. When I arrived in DC, Neil was one of the first people to take me out. We stayed in touch & had memorable dinners. He was brilliant, wise & so kind. One of his last texts to me was about his limited time left. "I am doing what I will with great joy."
