I made the strong and true claim that, without the Bush tax cuts, their extensions, and the Trump tax cuts, debt/GDP would be declining indefinitely. How much have they cost up until now? $10 trillion! That's $10 trillion on tax cuts that went disproportionately to the well off.

(1) I want to say a few words about @BrianDeeseNEC as he’s hanging up his hat. Brian was my boss when I was a deputy at the NEC, and he’s been a long-time colleague and friend.
NEW: @BrianDeeseNEC -- President Biden's first and last call on big economic decisions -- will officially depart in mid-Feb. No new gig lined up. Leaving with a long policy legacy, including key roles in passing infrastructure & saving IRA from the ashes. nytimes.com/2023/02/02/us/po…

Today, @VP and I ordered our lunch from @GhostburgerDC – one of the 10.5 million small businesses that have applied to start during our Administration. If you missed the news, ketchup: that’s the most in a two-year period. Ever. More proof that our economic plan is working.

Today, working people pay 99% of taxes owed. The top 1% hides ~20% of their income from tax, including through offshore tax havens. And yet, this bill: - Makes it easier for the wealthiest to cheat on their taxes; while - ↑ the deficit by > $100b cbo.gov/system/files/2023-01…

I try not to engage in too much media criticism on here, but... Today the US hit the LOWEST UNEMPLOYMENT RATE IN 50 YEARS. How much cable coverage would there be if the US was at the HIGHEST UNEMPLOYMENT RATE IN 50 YEARS?

Yesterday in Illinois, @POTUS highlighted his administration’s plan to support farmers, lower their costs, and lower prices for American families. He also stopped by the @IBEW's 40th Convention to convey his support for union jobs in the infrastructure and energy industries.

This didn't just happen by accident -- before @POTUS' Rescue Plan, we weren't projected to return to these unemployment levels for years.
**THIS IS KEY** The current jobs recovery is incredibly fast. ~95% of jobs are back so far. We are on track to have 100% of jobs back by ~2.5 years after crisis. Compare to: 1991 recession: ~2.6 years for full job recovery 2001 recession: ~4 years 2007 recession: Over 6 years
