Too many of you were told as kids you'd make a great lawyer without realizing that adult was calling you a dick.

Productivity Hack: I saved at least an hour at my last family reunion when I had AI summarize everyones baby photos and videos. Cut the presentation down by like 90% YoY.

The hardest part of my job is being a juvenile lawyer at 5ft tall and most of my 14 year old clients are taller than me. Like good morning judge, Alyssa Leader on behalf of Braden and if you need he can lift me up closer to the podium.

I am surprised that social media and AI companies aren't ahead of the curve on labeling, its such an easy win... in August 2026 EU AI Act and California SB 942 come into effect, while both China (CAC) and India (IT Rules) already require metadata marking.

3 final interviews in the past two weeks were canceled, the roles themselves dissolved - coincidence or news/economy? Puzzled

Defining skills as "hard" or "soft" is so insidious, I propose we throw out the terms entirely.

Breaking news. The "Judge, they already confiscated all the drugs. The danger to the community has been taken care of," argument didn't go over as well as I would've liked it to

Can’t believe I waited so long to hire full time employees. Was working until 1AM every night and the was effectively talking to myself all day. Not healthy if you’re trying to grow a firm (or live generally).

I am writing articles for fun on topical issues and really enjoying it. Alas methinks I have been reading too much historical lit. I'll need to remove the liberal sprinkling of "thereby", "heretofore", and "whence" and count myself lucky I didn't drop a "forsooth" or "betwixt"

I’m getting entire emails from clients drafted by AI. Random bolded words. Mid paragraph bulleted lists. Rationale included for every thought. Can’t even bother to take on the task of writing “Hi Matt.” We’re doomed.

New challenge, describe America's privacy laws without calling it a "patchwork"

The Florida Digital Bill of Rights might as well have just named Google, Amazon, and Apple. "Operates a consumer smart speaker & voice command component service with an integrated virtual assistant connected to a cloud computing service that uses hands-free verbal activation."

Its a good addition! Just interesting how specific it is compared to the rest of the bill.

When a compliance standard adds "comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws" good reminder folks almost forgot

I won't name and shame but the number of top companies whose websites are utterly incapable of resizing to fit windows is.... astonishing.

ah yes the secret career advice just make $10m in 5 years
If you’re in your early 20s, the best thing to do for your career is to join a company that will turn your $100k equity grant into $10M in 5 years.

Thank god wouldn't want a kid to have a name that is individual. Without a spreadsheet how could you think of names like David, Steven, and George? Would take a genius or a supercomputer
we named our son by making a spreadsheet with all the census data for the last 30 years eliminate any that was ever in the top 5 or that wasn't in the top 200 at least 10 times you wind up with some good classics that are never too rare or too popular xitter.cf/Hestia_Esq/status/1952…

90% of comedians whole shtick is self-deprecation are you insinuating they are in a position of genuine stature?
Random hypothesis: self-deprecating humor only works as humor when deployed by someone in a postion of genuine stature/importance bc it communicates self-awareness and, indirectly, comfortable self-confidence From people who *aren't* in that position it communicates weakness

the fact they can promise you a sedan and then just randomly “upgrade” you to an suv when you show up to pick up the car is insane
Rental car companies seem so insanely helpless at their one job. You show up at the airport, reservation in hand, and they’re like “wait really? You wanted a car? Sorry, you totally caught me off guard.”

Modern job hunting is getting constant nonstop ads for specific positions, giving in and applying, getting ghosted, all while still being aggressively marketed to apply. Make up your mind do you want me or not!
