You now have your PVC, but will you vote? π³οΈ
Between getting on the voter register and showing up on election day, what gets in the way?
On Off The Record with CODE, our host, @IamNankpak, and journalist Collins Nnabuife discuss youth participation and how doubts about the electoral process can discourage citizens from voting.
What would help turn registration into participation: greater trust, clearer information, easier access, or stronger security?

Sitting in the room at #UNGA81 for the Global Africa Business Initiative #GABI and listening to the discussions on #UnstoppableAfrica geared towards βThe Africa We Wantβ, I couldnβt help but wonder, what does this mean to the average African?
To me, it means an Africa of good governance, democracy, respect for human rights, justice, and the rule of law, not just in words, but in deeds.
An Africa whose development is people-driven, relying on the potential of African people, leaning on each other rather than turning on one another in pointless attacks based on misplaced fears of our own brothers and sisters, forgetting that a divided house cannot build a global powerhouseπ
Where our borders become bridges for collaboration instead of flashpoints for division.
A prosperous Africa based on inclusive growth and sustainable development, demonstrated in the political will of our leaders and matching budgets.
Where we unite as a people to harness our human capital and resources to address the issues that plague our continent, rather than over-relying on foreign aid, donations, and already shrinking civic funding.
An unstoppable Africa is an Africa where every girl, even in the most remote parts, can have access to free, quality education! Where every young person can dare to dream!
Our future, on our terms, based on common heritage, shared values, and ethics β

Nigeria @ 66: What Stories Are We Telling β And What Are We Not Telling?
As Nigeria marks 66 years of independence, the Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism will be hosting "The Keynote", a special edition of its Journalism & Society Conversations.
Theme: "Nigeria @ 66: Is the Republic Telling Us the Whole Story? Investigative Journalism, Accountability and What Remains Uncovered."
Join us on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 11 a.m. as our speakers @IfeanyiUddin, Columnist at @PremiumTimesNG, @Abdulfagge, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Public Engagement, @DCynthiaM, Director of Programmes at @YIAGA, and @IamNankpak, Communications Associate/Media Relations at @Connected_dev, examine the stories Nigeria tells about itself, the evidence behind those narratives, and the realities that remain underreported, unexplored, or deliberately obscured.
What happens when we look beyond the official stories of a nation and ask: What does the evidence reveal? Join us for the Keynote.

Who better to discuss what girls need in school than the girls themselves? πβπΎ
As part of Connected Developmentβs role as a technical partner in Bauchi Stateβs 2027 budget consultation, mentees from our Girl Child Education Project clearly expressed their priorities: more chairs, working toilets, textbooks, a library, and more female teachers.
Behind every request from the girls at the consultation is a daily experience of attending class without a seat, learning without enough books, or waiting until they get home to use a toilet.
Now more than ever, their voices need to be heard, and their priorities should lead to budget commitments, funding, and real improvements they can see in their schools.
What is one thing every girl should have access to in school?

In addition, remember to keep your faith alive. Trust that your current lack of visibility is not a sign of stagnation, but a period of deep preparation. Stay true to your vision, even when you are the only one who can see it and let your conviction be your compass
Democracy doesnβt end at the ballot box π³οΈ It lives in your voice, your questions, and your right to hold power accountable.

Good governance means being able to follow the money.
Can Nigerians trace gas-flaring penalties from: Flare β Penalty β Payment β Remediation β Community outcome?
The communities bearing the cost deserve transparency about where the money goes.

For decades, Niger Delta communities have lived with the consequences of gas flaring, from environmental damage to serious health and economic risks.
But there is another question we need to ask: Who benefits from the price of pollution?
