Delhi: At Critical Communication India 2026, Chairman of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) Anil Kumar Lahoti says, "In such situations, communication becomes an instrument of public safety. It becomes an instrument of national resilience. And as Mr. Ramachandran said, at the most critical moments, it can become the difference between life and death. That is what makes mission-critical communication fundamentally different. Mission-critical communication systems have to be engineered to ensure high reliability, resilience, availability, real-time responsiveness, and interoperability. From an architectural perspective, such systems are designed with redundant and hardened infrastructure, including failover connectivity, backup power, resilient network elements, and geographically distributed core networks to ensure continuity of service even under extreme conditions and infrastructure disruptions."
